I you plan to install an aftermarket amp or sub to your audio system, you will quickly learn that it doesn't play with the Pilots ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). The good news is that it is possible to disable the ANC by disconnecting the front and rear ANC mics. I've provided detailed instructions with photos for you. Just view the photos in order. First we will cover the Rear mic then the front in the next post. If you have question, just respond to the post as I will monitor it.

Hey Toolmanjoe,
Your post on getting rid of the ANC was great. My question is - if the primary reason Honda installs the ANC is to negate the VCM is there away to turn off the VCM?
I, like many other Pilot owners, do not like those cylinders being deactivated.
I would do ANYthing to always run on all six cylinders.
And I know forum readers say that the ANC does not interfer with the sound of the stock radio unit, but my 2012 touring sound system is weak.
I hope you are still following this post and will reply

Ah, I was wondering what was making that noise on my sub. I tapped into the factory subwoofer for a signal, and thought maybe i had a bad ground or ground loop, especially since the noise went away when i opened any door, or I accelerated. Disconnected both mics on my 2011 Touring, all is good now. Thanks.
