It's time for my ATF change. I've only used Honda ATF-DW1 in the past but I see RockAuto carries Aisin and costs less than Honda. I know Aisin timing belt kits are perfect oem replacements but is it the same for their DW-1? Is this the same quality and suitable replacement, and can I mix this with some existing Honda DW-1 stash I have?

Ya, now I know I don't want Idemitsu Type H in my transmission. Over priced DW-1 that's already overpriced. 5 quart bottle? Marketing team?
I was checking out the Aisin DW-1 on RockAuto. They are touting to be the largest transmission fluid manufacturer in the world.

I found it strange that Rock Auto also list AC Delco Dexron IV as suitable for my 6-speed Pilot. Even giving it the ❤ symbol.

Aisin DW-1 ATF specs?
I found the reason. They don't have it as maxlife, only Valvoline high mileage. Facing basic price parity, I will weigh the options.

Only seeing Honda DW-1 Blackstone analysis, not Aisin DW-1.
I'd love to see a Blackstone analysis of 3.1 to see what percentage of it is gold.

I thought it intresting that RockAuto shows Pentosin as a substitute for 3.1.
I do believe that even though we've seen Honda ATF evolve over the years with negative benefits (other than to Honda through price), that its glory days of "only use our expensive fluid or else..." are hopefully coming to an end.
Hopefully this image shows up. It is a comparison with Aisin and Honda.
Look under oil type and grade.

7.3 viscosity is higher than most. Sill wondering what the back of the bottle says. They seem apprehensive to advertise this as Full Synthetic.

How do you even sleep at night?
The Aisin DW-1 safety data sheet says its base oil is "Mineral Oil Mist." Not sure if this is considered full synthetic.
I assume you meant you found Aisin DW-1?
