I should add that the dealer added a 200,000 mile lifetime drive train warranty and I purchased a 100,000 mile 10 year bumper to bumper warranty.
That's an amazing deal for $40k before TTL. How much was the warranty? Is it the Honda warranty or aftermarket? 200k for power train is also great, do they require you have your maintenance completed at their facility?

The bumper to bumper was $1,995 from Fidelity Warranty Services Inc no deductible. The power train warranty has a $100 deductible. It says in the contract that you must have the car maintained according to the manufactures instructions and that you must save the receipts to prove the work was done.

A long process because of the out of state deal, but they treated me well.

The key criteria: 6-speed Trans, AWD, Navi & RES, Middle Bench seat.
This rules out Touring and Elite (Middle Swivel seats), and any 2021 because all have 9-speed (no more PRNDL)

Hi folks. New to Hondas altogether. We just bought a new 2020 Pilot last week and so far we love it. I hope I can still say that in 5 years.

It's an EX-L, FWD. The factory installed options were the 12 month Kahu subscription, the PULSE system, and the 3 year "Permaplate" coating or whatever on the outside of the vehicle. After all of that, the price was $34,510. After taxes, tags, etc, plus a 100,000 mile warranty I bought on the electronics, the total price out the door was $37,062.

MSRP inc delivery- 39,080 (on the sticker)
Actual Price Paid before extras- 33,523
Total- 37,062

Midlands Honda, Columbia, SC
I did not trade in a car.

I will say that I didn't go in there with the intention of purchasing that day, which made it easy to turn down several of the offers they showed me. It was the last day of September, so I'm assuming they were trying to move some 2020's. The salesman said they needed 4 more sales that day, and that figured into it. I don't really know how much any of that actually matters and how much is just sales talk. I felt like I did pretty good. I was actually looking for a 2020 used with about 10,000 miles, but I feel like this worked out nicely.

The factory installed options were the 12 month Kahu subscription...
I had no idea dealers could charge for this. Kahu is a dealer tool that allows them to track vehicles for inventory purposes, and reduce lot theft. That's incredible that they've found a way to monetize this after the sale. To put this in perspective, you're paying for the dealer to be able to track and disable your car should they choose to do so.

tl/dr; don't miss a payment or your car will disappear quickly

Hello. I just joined this forum. After doing a lot of reading and research, I have my eyes on a Honda Pilot Touring vehicle.

I went to a dealer last week around November 18, 2020, here in the Dallas /Fort Worth, Texas area and I got an education in new and used car prices for this vehicle.

The salesman told me the cars were selling for around 9,000.00 or so over the manufacturer suggested retail price. Used cars were just as much as new cars. My friends wife, who is a new car salesman said that at her dealership, the jack up used car prices in an attempt at getting you to buy the new car.

I saw just the Pilot for me, a Used Pilot Touring Model with around under 10,000 miles. They were asking for 49,000 before I even got in to see the person with whom you sign the contract!

We just paid $55,000 earlier in the year for a different manufacturer's car. We have been driving 22 year old plus cars, with the oldest being a 1995, and the one with the most mileage having 397,000 miles. We have been saving for years. Now, it appears to have been in vain as Used and New car prices have gone through the roof.

Surely there will be some sort of correction in prices one day. For now, I will have to either sit this out or find another option, which will be very hard as this car fits my personal needs so well. Rant over....
