I just got a 06 EXLNav.

So it has XM with 3 month trial. I like XM, had it in my trade in for a while using a Delphi SkyFi2 unit. No problems.

Haven't had time to really play with it, but are there any features to the XM? What I know so far... you can have 6 presets on each XM1 & XM2. You can display the track/title/station info on the radio unit by toggling the display button on the radio. You can also display that information on the Nav screen when you hit Audio.

What I'm wondering, are there additional features, similar to what I had on the skyfi2 unit?

TuneSelect? (Ability to "save" artists/songs and get a reminder if they are on a different channel?) - I assume, no.
Pause/Rewind? This i'm 99% certain is not available
Browse channels (ability to see what's playing on more than 1 station at a time. Any way to get a list and page through it?)

Thanks!

I've played around a little with the xm radio, and it seems like a very basic model. now if it can have a tivo type recorder for xm radio, that would be sweet! :)

I just got my Pilot. What will happen if I don't call XM to start the 3 month trial? My dealer told me that it's in "preview" mode, but I seem to have a good bit of channels.
By preview mode, he means the 3 month trial.

XM will send you a letter to subscribe. If you don't the service will stop working at some point after the 3 months (when the car receives the "stop" signal)

Oh, okay. My dealer told me that I had to call XM after driving after 20 minutes to let them know that I now own the car and to start the 3 month trial. I think she's a bit off there.
sounds like something the dealer should have done. seems like if you don't call, you'll continue to have xm free for more than 3 months. :D

My dealer did the activation as part of their pre-delivery. The trial period expired 3 months to the day.

I already have an XM subscription, but it was a little rigamarole to add it as a second unit on the family plan. Their customer service agents (there was no way to do this online) aren't exactly geniuses.

If you're getting more channels than 1 and 247 (I think that's the emergency channel) then you're in the trial period.

I just called XM and they asked me for a 8 digit alpha-numeric radio code???

Never got this from dealer.

I gave them the radio code and they said that was not what they need.

Also the XM button apparently should display XM 1 and 2 as presets.

Mine does nothing and stays in FM.

Does this radio need activation from the dealer or does some one here have the know how to activate the XM without dragging my car down to the dealer?

Press and hold something??

Anything??

I have a XM botton on the stereo and when I press it nothing happens.

Is there any other antenna or equiptment that needs to be added before I can get the signal?

I have the EX model with the in dash 6 CD changer.
You have an XM-ready head unit in the EX trim level. You need the tuner, antenna, and connectors to connect to the head unit.

See the installation instructions here.
