Following up... I was able to look at the part in a Youtube windshield replacement video and looks like it comes with the glass. Also found a similar picture from an Ebay listing for an Odyssey. The plastic goes around the camera and rearview mirror mount, so hopefully it won't affect the camera calibration.

According to the service record the glass was replaced last month by the dealership (Pilkington logo without the Honda "H"). I reattached it using 3M double sided but doubt it will stay on for long under the Arizona sun.

 

Doubt 2x stick tape will hold up in a hot car. It’s CPO, I would take it back to the dealer and have them fix it correctly.

 

Took it to the service center today, same dealership company but in a city closer to me. The manager confirmed that the part comes attached to the windshield and that the only way to fix it is to install a new glass. Also confirmed that the glass installed in March is not Honda original. He will call back after consulting and coordinating with the dealer that sold the vehicle. He also made notes of other missing/broken parts that need to be replaced.

 

I have the exact same problem after having my glass replaced with after-market. It keeps falling off and I think it makes the collision detection system fail because the sensors are blocked. Guess I'll try some high temp silicone to tack it in place and see if it holds.

 

I ended up using double sided 3M molding tape to keep it in place. Had to carefully remove the old adhesive first. It's holding on for now under the Southern Arizona sun.

 

If it a certified Honda, you need to have the dealer replace these items under warranty -- no need for you to DIY. It should have a 12 month/12 mile bumper to bumper warranty, so no cost to you.

Last time I spoke to the service manager at the Honda dealership in Tucson two weeks ago he said that they were waiting for the parts and working with their Phoenix branch in order to get "approval". Will call them tomorrow and see how it goes.

 

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm having this issue, but the tape didn't work. Had an aftermarket glass put on, and have had problems ever since. I want to order the right parts in case I need to switch out the base plate or the cover.
