MaxLife "for high mileage vehicles"
The only MaxLife ATF I see on walmart web site is this one: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/valvoline-maxlife-automatic-transmission-fluid-not-applicable/6000078877210 It says for high mileage vehicles. Is this the one to use or I should be looking for something else. My van has 70K km now. Thanks.

I get a kick reading other Honda forums on MaxLife ATF. The ATF debate right up there with healthcare.

LOL, ATF thread descends into political kerfuffle. Fortunately, over here we have level-headed members and a crack team of mods, so we never even get near Godwin's Law.
As for occasionally drifting slightly off-topic, though, well that's just plain ol' fun.
A couple of "OEM Honda fluid only" guys over there. I thought it intresting someone was concerned with counterfeit DW-1. I guess it could happen. I Dunno how DW-1 can end up on Amazon 3rd party. I'd be all ears for a reasonable explanation.

I guess I'm a OEM only type, but I can be convinced otherwise. If someone presents evidence that Valoline works better than OEM, I will switch. I do have a question - can you mix the two or do you have to do a drain and fill several times? I may do that in a year if OEM gets hard to get at some point.
I fell into using VML years ago. Just simply needed an ATF that would work in the Honda I owned at the time.
Today, there are 27 voters on this apoll that have selected a reason or 2, why they use VML. My evidence is simply based on the long term use of VML in my vehicles. Primarily the 2012 Honda Crosstour I've owned since new. It was moved to VML a few years ago at 101k miles. Not because of any issues with shifting using DW-1, but mostly out of convenience of buy ATF at Wal-Mart. For years, the various Honda forums often shame individuals for using aftermarket ATF, especially when someone chooses a fluid that wasn't compatible. Amazingly, this vehicle is now at 282k miles and has never had a single transmission problem since the switch, doing a single D&Fs every 30k miles. The fact that it's only $17.97 for a gallon and readily available at Wally World is the bonus.
Mixing DW-1 and VML isn't a problem. I do believe VML works best after 2 D&Fs. It does what it says on the back of the bottle.

I’d say use VML and less stress = less reliance on the need for healthcare! There, I made the connection. 😛

OK you guys convinced me to try Valvoline Max Life will start next oil change on my 2011 Pilot I also like the idea that it is cheaper and might also help with me not using my health insurance! Plus it is a hassle for me to drive to my local Honda dealer I can buy VML on base where I work saves me driving in traffic after work. Once again thanks for sharing your experience with using VML on your Pilots and other Hondas as well. I also have a 2014 Ridgeline to maintain so will be switching it over as well.
