My OEM wipers are done and looking to get a new set. Wondering if there is a better option out there? I know Costco has the Goodyear Assurance on sale but I have heard good and bad things. Bosch Icons seem to get decent reviews.

Piaa's, the Latitudes, the Bosch, Michelins, Goodyears

The Goodyear Assurance wipers from Costco have worked well for me. I've had them for about a year/15K miles and they're still holding up. Just as good the Bosch Icons. Can't beat the price either....$16/pair in the DC area.

I've used Bosch for years but just put some RainX ones on as thats all the local store had. Biggest difference between the two brands is that Rain X are much lighter. That is no bad thing I suppose for the electric motor.
Can't tell a difference in wiping ability. However lets see how they handle snow duty this winter.

Using the cheaper Rain-X blades, saw the $30 ones in the store and almost fell over.

Also adding to this thread, since it is about wiper blades, but how far up does your passenger blade sit above the bottom black edge of your windshield? Mine sits up about a good inch or so, and the termination of the passenger blade swipe is directly in my line of sight. Thinking about pushing the arm down a bit, just to get it out of my way while driving.

I've been a Bosch wiper guy for 12+ years..even upgraded to the Icons when they first came out. That set didn't even last two years, but I bought another set of them anyway. Again, they didn't last two years. Argh! I decided this time I was going to try the Costco wipers and they have performed fine the first two months..if I get one year from them I'll be happy since they were less than half the price of the Icons.

2 years for a pair of wipers is nuts every major manufacturer suggests replacement at 6 months or a year

Anco recommends change wipers every 6 months.
Bosch recommends change wipers every 6 months.
Valeo change wipers the first sign of wear they will last longer standard wipers.
Trico recommends change wipers every 6 months.
Piaa silicone recommends change wipers every 12 months.
RainX recommends change wipers every 6 months.
Reflex recommends change wipers every 6 months.

Yes, cheap wipers are recommended to be changed every 6 months.

From the Bosch site:

FAQs

What is dual-rubber technology?
Answer
Bosch ICON, Excel+ and Hindsight are the only wiper blades on the market that use this technology. The dual-rubber wiping element uses two different rubber formulations in the two areas which perform different tasks. For the wiping edge, that touches the windshield, a harder, more wear-resistant rubber is used than for the area that is responsible for making the wiping lip flip over properly when the direction of the wiper is reversed. This flip-over function is best provided by a softer, more flexible rubber. The two rubber types in combination result in better, lower-noise performance over a longer service life.

How often should wipers be changed?
Answer
Wipers should be changed when they no longer perform as expected, or no longer provide a high enough level of safety. The recommended replacement interval for preventative maintenance is 6 months. Bosch's exclusive dual-rubber technology can extend this interval to as much as 12 months, and Bosch ICON wipers last an average 20% longer.
So that means the manufacturer expects the Excel plus wipers to last about 12 months. Since I live in a very mild climate, I got two years out of the Excel and Excel + wipers without any streaking or noise. Let me think about it to be sure...I had 7 sets across 4 cars (me, wife x 2, mom x 2, dad x 2) and I replaced them before they went bad and that was two years for every set. 7 out of 7. I don't think it's too much for me to expect the more expensive Icon wipers to last just as long..especially since the manufacturer expects them to last 20% longer. I went 0-2 with the Icons and $90 later I've decided to try a different brand.

I actually like the OEM wipers and I feel that they wipe the windshield very well. I typically buy the rubber insert refills only; they're pretty cheap and don't require much more effort to replace compared to changing the entire blade.

The only thing I didn't like about the OEM wipers was how they would accumulate snow/ice during winter storms. The ice would get caught and build up inside the blade, which wouldn't allow it to hug the windshield.

Like ltp646, I was able to use the coupon at Costco for the Goodyear Assurance wiper blades. I got sets for both of my cars for $16+tax. I figured for that price, I might as well try single piece wiper blades in the winter to avoid the ice buildup. The wipers in both of my cars are starting to streak a little now, so the Goodyears will be going on soon. Hopefully, they perform as well as those here have stated. When spring comes around, I'll consider going back to the OEM wipers with new rubber inserts.

I've been using the genuine OEM Honda wipers. The quality is better than aftermarket in my opinion. I just ordered some new ones recently and just installed them. I'm really busy so I just ordered them online and had them conveniently shipped to my door. They arrived fast directly to my door and without issues. I purchased these wiper s and they've really performed nicely when it rains https://www.hondapartsprime.com/oem/honda-76630szaa01-blade~windshield~wiper.html

OK, I realize I'm going to get laughed out of the bar for this, but here goes.

Maybe not what you'd call a wiper snob, but I've long been dissatisfied with whatever wiper brand I've tried, and I've tried my lot over the years. Within a few months they all disappoint, streaking or clearing inconsistently. Then a couple of years ago I ordered the Wiper Wizard from Aliexpress for under 4 bucks. I had little hope that it was anything more than a gimmick at best, and could potentially ruin good blades at worst, especially after reading mixed reviews here and there around the intewebs.

It took weeks to get to me via the proverbial slow boat from China, and I hesitatingly used it as directed.

OK, you can stop laughing now.

I'll wait some more.

I still hear some laughing.

OK, regardless of the muffled laughter I can still overhear...

Hey, Mikey, it works! I occasionally (every 5 or 6 months) run my now 3-year old wipers through it, and they're good for another half year or so, summer or winter, no streaking and a clean wipe for good visibility. YMMV.

Bosch Icons....
My personal opinion is that the key to the longevity of the wipers is the windshield washer fluid.
I've used nothing but RainX in all of my vehicles over the last 25+ years and have had great results.
The trick is to use the fluid often so that it will build up on the windshield plus I believe that it somehow lubricates the wipers.
My 2 cents...
