The Goodyear Assurance wipers from Costco have worked well for me. I've had them for about a year/15K miles and they're still holding up. Just as good the Bosch Icons. Can't beat the price either....$16/pair in the DC area.

 

Really? I have them as well and the started making lines a month after I bought them. They still work for the most part so I haven't given them a second thought.

My brother has the bosch icons on his srt8 jeep and they seem to work well. But I assume they cost somewhat more.

I've used Bosch for years but just put some RainX ones on as thats all the local store had. Biggest difference between the two brands is that Rain X are much lighter. That is no bad thing I suppose for the electric motor.
Can't tell a difference in wiping ability. However lets see how they handle snow duty this winter.

I've been using the Costco's Michelin wipers for a couple of years and like them. I change them once a year and $8+tax per set (with coupon) is a good price.

 

Using the cheaper Rain-X blades, saw the $30 ones in the store and almost fell over.

Also adding to this thread, since it is about wiper blades, but how far up does your passenger blade sit above the bottom black edge of your windshield? Mine sits up about a good inch or so, and the termination of the passenger blade swipe is directly in my line of sight. Thinking about pushing the arm down a bit, just to get it out of my way while driving.

 

I've been a Bosch wiper guy for 12+ years..even upgraded to the Icons when they first came out. That set didn't even last two years, but I bought another set of them anyway. Again, they didn't last two years. Argh! I decided this time I was going to try the Costco wipers and they have performed fine the first two months..if I get one year from them I'll be happy since they were less than half the price of the Icons.

 

2 years for a pair of wipers is nuts every major manufacturer suggests replacement at 6 months or a year

The dual-rubber wiping element uses two different rubber formulations in the two areas which perform different tasks. So that means the manufacturer expects the Excel plus wipers to last about 12 months. Since I live in a very mild climate, I got two years out of the Excel and Excel + wipers without any streaking or noise. Let me think about it to be sure...I had 7 sets across 4 cars (me, wife x 2, mom x 2, dad x 2) and I replaced them before they went bad and that was two years for every set. 7 out of 7. I don't think it's too much for me to expect the more expensive Icon wipers to last just as long..especially since the manufacturer expects them to last 20% longer. I went 0-2 with the Icons and $90 later I've decided to try a different brand.

 

I actually like the OEM wipers and I feel that they wipe the windshield very well. I typically buy the rubber insert refills only; they're pretty cheap and don't require much more effort to replace compared to changing the entire blade.

The only thing I didn't like about the OEM wipers was how they would accumulate snow/ice during winter storms. The ice would get caught and build up inside the blade, which wouldn't allow it to hug the windshield.

Like ltp646, I was able to use the coupon at Costco for the Goodyear Assurance wiper blades. I got sets for both of my cars for $16+tax. I figured for that price, I might as well try single piece wiper blades in the winter to avoid the ice buildup. The wipers in both of my cars are starting to streak a little now, so the Goodyears will be going on soon. Hopefully, they perform as well as those here have stated. When spring comes around, I'll consider going back to the OEM wipers with new rubber inserts.

 

I like the Costo's Michelin Assurance wipers, never had any probs dealing with it and the top of all its pretty cheaper too.

 

bosch worked great along with anco and mich. the wife walked through the parts house with me tonight to shop for goodies for the pilot and mentioned she wanted to try the rainx high dollar blades. so in the next week or 2 ill be gettin them for all the blades on the pilot.

Huge fan of Bosch blades. Buy the brand exclusively.
Never had much success with replacement rubber inserts. I lack the patience to install them correctly.

 

Only used fillers in all my vehicles. My 2003 since new have used fillers until now at 229k miles.

Much better than Bosch or Goodyear in my opinion. Quieter, last longer, the treatment cloth they come with helps water bead.

 

OK, I realize I'm going to get laughed out of the bar for this, but here goes.

Maybe not what you'd call a wiper snob, but I've long been dissatisfied with whatever wiper brand I've tried, and I've tried my lot over the years. Within a few months they all disappoint, streaking or clearing inconsistently. Then a couple of years ago I ordered the Wiper Wizard from Aliexpress for under 4 bucks. I had little hope that it was anything more than a gimmick at best, and could potentially ruin good blades at worst, especially after reading mixed reviews here and there around the intewebs.

It took weeks to get to me via the proverbial slow boat from China, and I hesitatingly used it as directed.

Hey, Mikey, it works! I occasionally (every 5 or 6 months) run my now 3-year old wipers through it, and they're good for another half year or so, summer or winter, no streaking and a clean wipe for good visibility. YMMV.

My personal opinion is that the key to the longevity of the wipers is the windshield washer fluid.
I've used nothing but RainX in all of my vehicles over the last 25+ years and have had great results.
The trick is to use the fluid often so that it will build up on the windshield plus I believe that it somehow lubricates the wipers.

I got 8 years out of my set of Silblade Flexblades. Will be ordering another set for the Pilot.
