We are looking at the possibility if snowy season here in our So Cal mountains and it looks like we might be taking a few trips up to the mountains and chains will most likely be required. This means I really need to start taking this seriously i.e. pre-purchase.

In another thread ( https://www.piloteers.org/threads/recommend-snow-chains-for-pilot.180423/#post-1802562 ) virtually all of my snow chain questions answered. A lot of good information there. Also, I'm specifically looking at the Peerless solution ( Peerless | Z® - SUV/ LT ).

With that said... I'm really concerned about the chains marring my 2022 SE black wheels. If these end up chewing up these rims I'd be sick. Has anyone used these and can report about the actual wheel clearance when installed?

I think I covered most of my thoughts in that other thread. Spare wheels with true winter tires would be a great first choice. With the exception of ground clearance, my Accord goes most normal road places the Pilot does. The true winters help with stop and turn which is normally more important than go.

You could get the Z chains and try them. Lack of sidewall and "bulge" of sidewall might have them close to your rims. Nice dry day, pull the wheel off and try. Know that they will move some also when driving. That will help you decide. If you are happy with the fit on wheel then put it back on the vehicle. Check that inside clearance with wheel turned even before installing chains. Make sure you use jack stands for safety.

You could also inquire with Peerless to see if the same ones fit the 18" rims. Since you are only 2WD according to signature you will need a set either way when it comes to chain control conditions.
