Transmission Fluid flush

Wonder why one needs to “shake well before using”? Once it’s in the tranny and vehicle sits overnight, a day or two, a week, whatever.....how do you continue to “shake well”? (facetious)

$95 is not out of line for four quarts of Honda ATF and a half-hour of labor at dealer rates.
Unless you drive more than 15K miles per year, the service will only be needed once every two years.
So, only $4 per month - or mere pennies per day.
It's way out of my line of thinking and I'm reasonably sure our restaurant waitperson appreciates my line of thinking. They have been in the past.;).......and I know it's done right with full synthetic TF.

$95 is high, but reasonable for a 6 speed dump & fill, but $400 (or whatever) is insane for a 3.5 quart 9 speed drain and fill "just" because it's a temperature sensitive refill (so is a regular dipstick transmission temperature sensitive, just not the high expansion rate of 3.1 fluid).

Bernardi Honda sells 3.1 Honda fluid for $25.76 a quart to retail people now, so you know it costs a dealer less than that. A 9 speed could be maintained 3X as well by a DIY person once they figure out the 105 degree temp check vs dealer cost. Dealers don't seem to be replacing the drain plug "every time" on the 9 speed like the manual says either ($30 bucks LOL) if the rubber seal "looks good".
At Bernardi, am I seeing $26 for one qt of ATF 3.1 PLUS $15 to ship that qt to me in Texas???? Never mind, $20 to ship 4 qts.

Just do the 9 speed change in July/August/September.........monitoring fluid temp then shouldn't be an issue then.

This past summer when I added the BATC, I went to the dealership to buy 1 qt of DW-1. The parts dude said $10, I said, dayum, gotta senior discount???? He says, sure....that will be $7. As if he couldn't see the gray hair/wrinkled skin.🤷‍♂️

Kinda scratchin' my head - if level was good before drain, and you measure what was drained, and refill with the same amount that was drained, how could the tranny be underfilled, or overfilled for that matter????

I think she caught/tore some clothes crawling under to do a tranny d&f.;)
