It seems as if my satellite radio is getting progressively worse on my 2016 touring.

The signal would go out intermittently but now when I turn the car on i get no signal constantly. Has anyone else experienced issues with the satellite radio?

Is there a tsb on this?

Same issue

Anybody have any information on this? Search yields a bunch of half-baked threads with no follow-up. Ive got the same exact issue in my 2014 EX-L. I get "No Signal" constantly and XM states that its a problem with the vehicle. I haven't made a dealer appt yet but will soon. Any information in the mean time would be appreciated however!

Signal Lost

I'm having the same issue with my 2016 Honda Pilot EX-L w/ Navi.
I get "Signal Lost" about 50% of the time now on XM. It was working fine for the 1st year I owned it.
Now that I paid for 1 year of XM service, it is now giving me the no signal issue.

I took it into the dealer and told them I'd like to get the TSB service for these 3 TSB's:
  • 16-097 Audio Unit and Navigation Unit Software Update
  • 16-025 Audio Unit Volume Fluctuates
  • 15-072 Product Update: Audio-Navigation Unit
They had my car for 8 hours at the dealer. They said they called Honda and needed to replicate the issues before they are authorized to do any of the updates. They were unable to replicate the issue, and asked to keep the car another day. Unfortunately I need the car back, so I wasnt able to leave it.

While I was at the Dealer the XM radio was working solid. once I got 2 miles down the road, "Signal Lost" happened again.

I'll be bringing it back and just having them focus on the XM Radio Signal Lost issue.

It kinda seems like a loose XM radio antenna cable, but it could be software too.

Did you ever find out what it was? I'm having the exact same issue and time problem. They want me to bring it back. Of course it was fine when I took it.

It does. In my experience signal black outs happen if you go by rocky (!) outcrops, heavy tree cover to the south of where you are located. The cause in my opinion is the lack of a signal buffer. If it stored say 15-30 seconds of signal, these service interruptions would be eliminated. The cost of that is minimal.

I for one tired of XM and dumped it after 15 months. On the flipside, if I was to use my car for a long ride, then I would probably pick it up again.

I had a similar issue and took videos of the signal loss in open fields. Did all of the troubleshooting with Sirius and they eventually sent me to the dealer. Dealer protested but after a few hours concluded that my radio antenna module was bad and that they would replace it. Haven't had the signal drops since it was fixed. 16 elite

Thank you for this...I have had the same problems. I made an appt at dealership at 7a a week ago and they said the tech didnt come in until later that day, so I had to take my car and go back to work. Took it back today and they are behind.....sick of this

After the 3 month trial, you will need to subscribe. Online price is high, try calling their customer service for lower price. Wife got 6 months for around $35, tell them to send you a bill, don't setup an auto payment.

Hi. I just wanted to confirm in our case, a Pilot 2016 Touring, the fix was replacing the SiriusXM antenna by the dealer. It appears as if in our case at least, the antenna basically degraded and wasn't as good as picking up the satellite signal as before. After the change, SiriusXM works again. Of course there will still be spots across mountain paths where the signal will not be available, but that is an effect of the terrain and not the antenna itself.

Just had same SiriusXM “No Signal” problem on 2016 Pilot with 40k on it. Over a 6 month period the issue started intermittently and then the SiriusXM radio became unusable displaying “No Signal”. Am/FM worked fine. Dealership replaced the XM antenna and now all is good and working again. Service guy said they are seeing this problem more often these days.

replacing the antenna wouldn't solve the lost XM in the middle of nowhere ..situation ...... I'm thinking about relocating the antenna all together in a different spot .
maybe its a design issue since i have XM on other vehicles GM, Nissan no issues what so ever .

I'm having the same issue in my wife's 2015 Odyssey. They did the seat latch recall and ever since that time, the XM signal fades in and out. It's out of warranty so I haven't approached the dealer about it. Does the antenna cable pass under/by the 2nd row seats?

Our 2017 EX-L with nav recently went thru the 'no signal' in the Sirius XM. The dealer replaced the roof antenna, and no luck. They ordered and installed a reman head unit to solve the problem. This required us to update the Garmin maps, and register the new id# with Sirius, but otherwise it's working fine again. Sirius wanted 15$ to do a transfer but waived it with the dealer invoice info stating it was a warranty item. It was at the dealer for 4 days. Does anyone know what is done to reman a head unit? When I searched the catalog number, it said for warranty only, so I'm assuming they're sitting on a shelf for just this reason.

The point is Honda never addressed the issue to begin with ..They only put a band aid on it... this issue persists in the gen 2's and still continues to the gen 3 series

2016 Sirius XM Radio loss of signal

I was informed by my dealer that it is caused by cellular interference and has to do with the design of the sat radio antennae design.
I have filed a concern with Honda of America as the dealer basically told me that I have to live with it. It goes out at times for as long as 30-60 minutes. I have contacted Sirius SM Radio who attempted a reset of radio but to no avail. They said take it to the dealer.

Thanks for posting. Helps explain the issue I have. I wonder if the 2019's have a better antenna design that could be used on the 2016.

Thanks for this thread. I started getting XM signal loss in my 2016 Pilot several months ago and it is getting progressively worse.I have both a 2006 and a 2016 Honda Pilot. XM reception in the 06 is fine so I know it is not an XM issue. The 'signal loss' on the 2016 has gotten to the point where I have no signal more than half the time. I have noticed it tends to be ok when the car is cool and has been out of the sun like first thing in the morning, but almost never can I get a signal when the sun is shinning on Pilot. So that leads me to think the antenna is going bad. I see several folks fixed there issue with a new antenna. Is there an upgraded antenna available? There is one mention that a radio antenna module fixed the problem - sounds expensive. Anyone else have to change the radio antenna module. Any suggestions appreciated as these are two really hard parts to troubleshoot so I'll probably try the antenna first.

I had the no signal issue right before the warranty expired on a 2016 pilot. The Dealer the first time just performed a system reset and all working well at the dealership. Once I got the car on the road, there was the loss of signal. The Dealer ended up replacing the XM antenna and all is good the XM once again. Somehow this a labor intensive job to replace the antenna (4 hours).

I just purchase a 2015 Pilot Touring and am having the same problem. I get a signal maybe 20 - 25 per cent of the time, but mostly get he "NO SIGNAL" message. It is not the area or surroundings because I previously had a Buick, and the the XM worked perfectly. Hopefully someone has new ideas or suggestions?
