can replacing the motor mount cause damage to the rear seal on a pilot?
Much more plausible that your crankshaft got a shunt during the timing belt change, I'd have thought. Can't see exactly how one would be likely to cause the other. When you say rear seal, you mean the junction between the right hand side of the engine and the transmission, right?I had the timeing belt, water pump and motor mount replace by a local shop. My pilot has 100K mileas and never leaked a drop of oi - it was leaking bad from the rear seal as soon as I got it home from the shop. this does not make sense.
Which motor mount? The passenger side one?.....Did not know if when replacing the mount that it could have put pressure on the seal (between engine and transmission) if it were not supported properly till the new one got put on.![]()
