Protect your remote controls!

Well after just a bit over a month, I noticed my remote control is getting scratches from being set down as well as having keys attached to the keyring. Must be some very soft plastic as it scratches very easily. I'm looking for best solution (other than not carrying keys) to protect the remotes. I can't imagine what the remote will look like after 10 years of traveling unprotected. For now I came up with a partial solution which is a screen protector from a Fitbit charge 5. Sticks on just fine, protects the majority of the remote face. I did have to narrow the protector a bit. Anyone know of a better solution?

Interesting! Let us know how those bags work out. Maybe if you have some of the "ceramic" liquid to treat the outside of the car you could wipe a little on the outside of that fob face from time to time. Although may not want to do that liquid on the buttons side, who knows.

I'm truly not mocking your concern here, I'd be concerned too, and might even post about it, if I experience the same issue.

Nevertheless, your scratched remote issue made me chuckle, a bit, in the context of everything else that could be an issue with a $50,000 new car. I'm imaginng the discussion where someone asks you how you like your new Pilot, and your response is "Well, that dang remote scratches too easily".

It's the little things sometimes. Especially something you interact with every time you drive your vehicle. At least Honda hasn't gone the route of Toyota. Toyota's key fobs look like a black plastic garage remote I have had since 2003. My 2018 Kia fob is very well-made and still looks brand new. It can't add that much to the price of a vehicle to have a top notch fob to go with it - especially at the $40-50K and up price range.
