Sorry for multiple posts but I'm dealing with multiple issues.
I just replaced the intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets, EGR & PCV valve & adjusted the valves on our 04 pilot with 218k on it.

Everything went fine & smooth but now I'm getting a P0341 (camshaft position sensor) code and vtm-4 dash light. These appear to be completely unrelated.
I'm also getting smoking from near the alternator. I degreased everything but the car still smokes this morning.

Any ideas what is causing these issues? The car runs beautifully after the service & these all seem unrelated.

I feel your frustraton. My camshaft position sensor went out and i replaced it. About 1,000 miles later my crankshaft position sensor went out so i replaced it. you might want to consider replacing the crankshaft position sensor also when you replace the camshaft position sensor. Smoking alternator is not the norm. You probably got some oil in a crack or the alternator where degreaser did not get to it and it is that oil burning off as the engine warms up. If it were me and the alternator was not hot to my feel i would just drive it and keep a fire estinger handy until the smoking quit.

Also check the camshaft sensor wires for 12v, 5v signal, and ground on the 3 pin connector. The VTM-4 code likes to show when ever there's a code for something else.
