I just finished installing the BlueConnect by AutoIntelligence. It's a one-piece integrated speakerphone that's compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled cell phones. Here is a picture:

That looks really clean Ed, how does it sound and function? I use Motorola earpieces in my car, for 25.00 they are pretty much disposable and seem to hold a charge forever, this is a nice clean install though. I wonder how the voice quality is with an earpiece over this overhead? The Pilot is the not most quiet interior, so I ended up an earpiece, but this would be more convenient for my wife and I when we change off. Also any issues with pairing it to more than one phone?

Thanks! I haven't had too much time to play with the features but it does have the ability to be paired to 2 phones and you can set a priority. Voice-quality was better than expected....no problems on the highway at 65 with the AC at position 3 and 4. I was surprised at the sensitivty of the microphone as well. I had the tendency to look up as I talked but looking forward in a normal driving position was fine as well. Setup was very easy and done through voice recognition. So far a very nice unit!

Just went to the manufacturer's web site listed and they don't show it available for any Hondas but they do have some for Acuras. How did you find the correct model?

If I got this and I could connect my cell phone to it and my laptop has blue tooth capability, could I connect my laptop to my phone and have Internet connectivity in the Pilot?

ED27,
So it appears you have to sacrifice the sunglass holder and conversation mirror (on the '06 Pilots) in order to install this BT system correct? Or do you still have a sunglass holder under all of that?

Would love to know...

If you have a bluetooth enabled cell phone and laptop, you don't need anything in the middle. Using a bluetooth cellphone as a modem for Dial-up Networking (DUN) may or may not be supported by your carrier. I hear Verizon cripples bluetooth to prevent it, and with Sprint, it depends on your Vision package as to how you'd implement it.

Also, if your carrier supports broadband such as EV-DO service, the bluetooth effectively throttles you back to bluetooth speeds, which is much slower than EV-DO speeds.

The model I have is not vehicle specific. It's just their standard unit for aftermarket installations. I bought it a few months ago from Sigma Automotive. You can choose between the black, gray or beige bezel. It's currently $289....that's $40 increase from what I paid. Here's another link I found from the distributor's Website for more info.

Yes. You will lose the use of the sunglass holder or conversation mirror. The kit comes with a sticker template. You'll need to place it properly in order achieve the right clearance. Let me know if you need more info.

Yes....I'm still happy with it. It works per the manufacturer's claims. At the time it was the best OEM-style device I could find. Currently there are more choices especially if you have an aftermarket radio. If I could do it over again with the same Kenwood head unit I have now, I'd try the Raytel 5000vi. It has an interface that will display information on your LCD screen as well as the harness to integrate with your factory speakers.

Good info, thanks. I am trying to keep my factory head and was looking to add bluetooth.
Do you have NAV as well?

Hi Forum Members,

Long time no post. I would like to install the blueconnect system in my 2007 honda pilot but am lacking instructions on how to remove the overhead console and the which wires I should be tapping. Can you kindly also tell me if the install was easy and what did you use to cut the hole for the system.

Thank You,
Leo

An installation guide would be perfect :)
