Oh there's nothing wrong with going with the 18". Don't take it personally. Some people just prefer the turning response of less sidewall. I've driven many cars that downsize rim size in the winter and one thing I'm always happy with is once spring comes along to swap them out. The change back to a bigger rim is very noticeable and it likely has to do with the soft winter tires as well as the small rim.

I like the look of a smaller rim and fatter tire. Definitely more offroady.

I also considered going with 21" or 22" wheels, but that I would've given up the ride quality, especially the 22s.
I went down from the low profile 20's to an all terrain 18 inch wheels. The ride is the same, only difference is at higher speeds you notice a difference (over 70). I personally beginning to like the 18s.

Use the oem 20s as your winter wheels and get a nice set of aftermarket wheels for summer. Those oem 20" black edition wheels don't even look that good. Same goes with the touring/elite 20" wheels.
Actually that's exactly what I am doing... I realized that OEM wheels on BE are not that good looking, so I will use them for winter tires.
And I just brought back from US a set of HPD 20" rims with OEM TPMs sensors... they were on sale at College Hill. Will use them for all seasons in the spring.

Not ideal solution - 18" for Winter makes more sense, but I did not feel like selling the factory wheels and getting 2 new sets of rims and tires... that's a bit too much. (yes it would have been great to have 20" HPDs for summer and 18" HPDs for winter... LOL)
