I called Honda today. 800-999-1009. Was told my vehicle wasn't specifically covered by the TSB, even though it's clearly listed on the TSB list (2020 Touring AWD, accessory added at vehicle purchase, new).

She said my only option is to go to dealer and get it diagnosed (with fee), and then file a request to have it reviewed and covered, though that wouldn't be guaranteed. And I'd be out the diagnosis cost, which I'm sure is more than just buying a magsafe charger.

I regretted, when I bought the car and paid to have this add on, not asking for the original body plastic that it replaced. I'm really regretting that now, as I could take it out myself.

I encourage everyone to call and complain. 1-800-999-1009, >1 (for English), >4 (for recalls, product updates, etc)

As an aside, the wireless charger was replaced per the TSB at no charge on my wife's 23 Passport because it's still under the 3/36 warranty. I don't know if a TSB guarantees a free repair if your vehicle is no longer covered under the bumper to bumper warranty.

From past experience, TSB’s were only while still under warranty. Unless a dealer wants to be super nice about it.

In my experience, the dealer didn't bat an eye when I took my out of warranty 2020 in a couple of months ago in regards to the TBS. Took them about 1 1/2 hours and I had my vehicle back with a new, working charging pad. I called first, so they had the charging pad in stock a couple of days later when I took the vehicle in.

I suspect that Honda, upon discovering that the originally installed chargers were defective, decided to replace any and all defective chargers brought to their attention, thus the lack of any warranty mention in the TBS.

I think I would call again. The folks picking up the 1-800 calls might not be the most knowledgeable. Who knows, second time might yield a better answer. Or not, but nothing to lose. Alternatively, you could call the dealer directly and see what they say.

I hope it gets fixed for you.

I called the dealer and spoke to the service guy, who knows me by first name... and he said they'd have to look at the vehicle and run diagnostics, then determine if it's covered by TSB.
I'll decide later if I want to make a special visit, or just wait till next tire rotation. I don't want to pay $80-100 for them to just diagnose a problem of which I already know the solution.

Went to the dealer today for a simple tire issue. I took a copy of the TSB 24-061. Service rep said that The TSB doesn't mean the cost is covered. The TSB just shows them how to diagnose and repair. But yet the TSB has a section "Warranty claim information," I guess that is for vehicles that are still under 3yr/36k.
I'm disappointing in Honda right now regarding this. I paid extra for this item when I purchased the vehicle, and they know this is a common defect.

Got to Honda. The dealer isn't Honda, they are an independent business owner.

I get Honda's response that the car is out of warranty. But if it is some kind of inherent defect, seems they should fix it no matter. I would be disappointed too.
