Gray Leather...Love it or hate it?

Thoughts on the gray interior, EXL specifically, but I suppose Touring would be the same. 2012 EX we currently have has gray cloth, and we have not had any issues. I have not had a chance to look at anything other than black, so I don't really know how light the gray is or if it presents any issues. But, we like the Lunar Silver Metallic, so only have the one option on seat color. Well my other option would be white paint and black seats.

I apologize for a repeat thread. I don't think I titled the first one very well and didn't get many responses.

Thanks!

I ended up getting the Lunar Metallic with the gray interior. After coming a cloth interior Sienna of the same gray color, and test driving a couple and sitting in a few more Pilots that had the black interior, I found them too dark over all and kinda closed in / not spacious feeling (if that makes sense). Thus far I have had no issues with the color or seats. I also don't have big dogs or very small children.

I hate how hot black leather gets in the summer and how coffin-like it makes the interior feel. I also think beige leather looks cheap personally. So we prefer grey leather and both our vehicles have it. The Traverse has grey leather paired with gray dashboard and door cards and the interior feels much more open and airy than the Pilot's black trim with grey seats.

No issues with staining with the young kids, but I do try to get to any messes quickly.

I had gray leather in my 2017 Pilot and I was really glad that my preferred color came with black interior this time around. Gray looks fantastic when it's clean, but keeping it that way can be a chore; my big issue was dye transfer from jeans. I got the seat covers for the second row because the kids were 11 and 13 when I bought it and that was the right call. They're both in college now so I didn't opt for the covers, but the fact that my seats are now black also pushed me in that direction.

Depends on your lifestyle and what color dirt will be in your car.
If you're worried about spills that might stain then black may be the way to go. If a car has a black interior it is immediately out of consideration for me. I don't like how hot it gets and can't stand that it shows every spec of dust and strand of hair.
My seats never really get dirty but my floor mats sure do. I put WeatherTech floor liners in all my cars and the gray ones I had in my 2012 CR-V usually looked cleaner than the beige in my 2017 Pilot. The main types of dirt in my car are gravel dust and road grime so it wasn't really noticeable on the gray. The only thing that stood out was when I would track in red dirt from a construction site.
The beige is slightly better in that scenario but red dirt always stands out. What really bugs me with the beige floor mats are water marks that I never noticed on the gray. I'll leave my umbrella partially open to finish drying and then have spots on the passenger floor mat. My floor mat gets more water marks every time it rains or snows. I rarely clean it because it's just gonna get dirty again but wish it stayed looking clean longer like the gray always did.

We decided not to compromise on the paint color we loved for what might be a problem interior color. Lunar Silver Metallic it is. Too soon to tell on the gray leather, but so far we love it. It was a bit darker than it appears in photos. We traded an Alabaster Silver 2012 Pilot EX with gray cloth, guess we know what we like after all. If the 2024 is as problem free as the 2012 then I will be pleased. I love the way it drives, and the tech is MUCH more intuitive than my parents Highlander. Debating on the Honda Care extended warranty. Normally I don't consider them, but have seen some great prices posted on here. Apparently my dealer does not offer it, which I found odd. The only offered a 3rd party extended warranty.
