CEL and VTM-4 after oil change?

Hello,
I have a 2011 pilot with 161k miles. I recently changed my engine oil and now whenever I leave early in the morning on cold mornings, pretty much every morning since I changed the oil, my car pulls a cel with p3497 code and the vtm-4 light comes on and the pilot rides rough… then if I park the car and turn it off and start it back up again it runs fine with the CEL still on but no VTM-4 light. Any suggestions?

P3497 is for the VCM system on the front bank. This is an oil sensitive system so use of an improper oil such as the wrong viscosity could potentially cause an issue. Have you verified the oil level is good?

If you have reason to believe it's not an oil issue, you can try swapping the pressure switch between the front bank spool valve and rear bank spool valve, which has an identical switch. If the problem is simply a bad oil pressure switch, you should see the P3497 become a P3400.

Update— I haven’t changed the oil pressure switch yet.. I decided this morning to let my car warm up 5-10mins first before driving off and it didn’t have cel flash nor the vtm-4 light come on. I’ve been thinking the valve solenoid gasket/screen could be gummed/clogged because it’s been too cold in the morning and the viscosity of the oil is still too thick to make its way through the screen/filter part of the valve solenoid.. could this be a possibility?

I installed a new oil pressure switch and I’m still having the same issue of driving off in the morning and the cel flashes and the vtm-4 light comes on and car rides rough but if I park car and restart the truck the problem goes away but cel is still on dash but not flashing… I also noticed if I start the truck and let it warm up before driving off it rides fine. This all started after changing the oil.
What would be the next solution..?
