My husband is a mechanic (DYI) my 2017 Honda pilot e-xl - 94,000, needs new struts and back shocks... Well, we have called every parts store and looked online to no avail! Our local dealer wants $1,600 just for the struts or to buy the parts $400 each!!! Has anyone else have this problem?

$170 for front shocks:
Front Shock Absorber for 2017 Honda Pilot | Majestic Honda Automotive Parts

$93 for rear shocks:
Rear Shock Absorber for 2017 Honda Pilot | Majestic Honda Automotive Parts

I'd be inclined to also order the top/bottom mounting nuts/bolts to have on hand just in case the original parts can't be reused.

Also, look through the parts lists and decide whether or not you might also want to replace the strut bearings at this time, as well as any of the rubber mounts/seats and/or bump stops.

Maybe also check the condition of the control arm and compliance bushings to see if they might need replacement.

This is great advice 👍

I haven't looked into how the Honda is setup but any rubber mounts and bump stops should definitely be replaced.

Most likely you'll need an alignment afterwards as well.

suziem1 did you ever receive your parts? I been going through the same problem with back ordered front struts for the last 4 months on a 2011 pilot. I ended up going to multiple vendors and was able to find the front struts from Majestic Honda and back shocks from Amazon Bistein B6. I wanted all Bilstein but that is not going to happen at this time with the supply chain being what it is now. Please post after your struts and shocks are installed I should have all my parts sometime in December will also post when completed.

We have been waiting since September for front struts. My mechanic, who is honest to a fault, says he has 4 2016 Honda Pilots (including mine), all just over 60k miles, with bad front passenger side struts waiting for parts. I looked online for the part and it seems that only 1 side is available and not the other. Seems like a defect compounded by supply chain issues. Anyone else experiencing the same problem with their 2016 ?
