Calling on Owners with Bose System ---CarPlay, Apple Lossless, Best audio quality for Music?

Hello all. I reviewed all the forum's pages and tried to search for this topic. I've read the manual and think I have a grasp on it all, but would welcome any input.

Several years ago (2008-2010 circa), I ripped my CD collection using Itunes, but did not go to full .wav format and used the best quality 320 kbps mp3 at the time (which I was thinking resulted in roughly cd quality for those audio files). So I have all of that I can just put on USB sticks for enjoyment in the new Pilot Elite.

But I also subscribe to Apple Music and have continued to build my library over the last 13 years --- all that is protected format though and cannot be loaded to USB. However, most of it this new portion of my Apple Music Library is also now available in Apple's Lossless format. So with unlimited data plan on the iphone (5G), if I stream that music in their Lossless format, then that should provide the best sound, right?

So, I guess that leads to my question here: if we need to have wifi enabled to use WIRELESS Apple Carplay in our Pilots with the Bose system, does that mean the system will play those full Apple Lossless format tunes using WIRELESS Carplay? OR, does one have to plug your iphone into the USB port in the Pilot to get that level of sonic bliss? I seem to recall somewhere that one needs to plug in to have Carplay play the Lossless format tunes at full "capacity"/resolution, but cannot recall where I saw that (maybe the owner's manual fine print, but cannot find it now).

I know I'm overly geeking out for the fun of it on this --- my ears are shot from all the guitar playing over the years and I'll probably not be able to tell the difference between the mp3s on USB versus the Apple Lossless formats!!!! Doh! But who gives a sh!t as I just love music and I am really digging how the mp3s sound already in my Elite!!! 🤘

Thanks for any input and be well all! Mike

Looking at the Rennlist forums (albeit not Honda), it looks like:
1) Apple Music available in Lossless format while streaming will not play over WIRELESS CarPlay;
2) WIRELESS CarPlay will always over-ride “plugged in” CarPlay IF you also have Bluetooth and WiFi ON in your settings of the iPhone that is plugged in;
3) The Only way to STREAM lossless Apple Music at that resolution is to connect via USB and disable Bluetooth AND WiFi on your iPhone settings before plugging into the USB port.

While I do not know definitively if this is how it works on the Pilot Elite Bose system, I’m suspecting it does. Anyone have any differing thoughts that 1-3 above are INCORRECT relative to our Pilots’ CarPlay functionality? If so, can you cite an Owners Manual provision and page?

thanks again for all the input and replies. Mike
