You can’t turn it off in the 2023?

 

I can't imagine "can't turn it off" is an option.
However, there is the option of not pressing the brake pedal firmly when stopping at very low speed. Don't try that in traffic if you can't 'walk and chew gum at the same time'.

 

Sorry, I misunderstood the question then. Yes, there's a button to turn it off on the center console next to the hill descent button.

 

Or just don't hit the brake fully at the stop light. Or turn the steering wheel apparently. I thought I would hate it, and I often do turn it off, but when I forget and it does activate it's not that big a deal to me.

 

It can be turned off on all vehicles equipped with it. But it must be done at every start to keep it off. That's where Idlestopper comes in.

 

Does putting in sport mode stop the idle auto stop. Thought another person mentioned that on Reddit.

I'm confused here. Can you explain how hitting one button to disable the auto start/stop is chaos?

 

I don’t know how to help with your confusion. Maybe take a step back and think it over until it clicks?

 

I had the recall addressed last week (unwittingly as I had really gone in to the dealer for an oil change and state inspection) and now my 2021 Honda pilot is caput...it failed emissions because of the software update. I drove hundreds of miles brought it back; still failed; the dealer drove it and it is still failing due to whatever the software update did to the catalytic converter. I don't know what to say about this recall but just want to share what happened to me. I now have a 2021 car with 26k for mileage and it failed multiple times... dealer just saying "give it time and try again" 😢.

 

I bought the Idlestopper for our 2023 Elite. But haven't installed it yet. Has anyone else installed it? It's a bit more of a disassembly than the one for the previous generation because you have to draw power from the dash.

 

I installed it and it works great. There's a piece that I just couldn't pull out, so I pulled as much as I could and fished the wire through. I'm not going t lie, it was kind of a pain, but its worth it.

 

I'll do it later this summer. After my 2017 cut out on my wife in the middle of a busy intersection, I am done with Honda's Idle Stop "feature." Luckily she was able to restart it and keep moving.

Idlestopper was the first accessory I ordered for our 2023 Pilot. I figured installing this one wouldn't be as easy as doing the one on the 2017 though.

 

When I have the windows down, I set the AC to off and set the temp to Lo. This is the one case where I would want idle stop to work but it doesn’t (due to climate settings) 😂

 

Mine engaged unexpectedly the other day and I don’t understand why. AC set to 70°F, auto, fan still going strong, 105°F outside and stopped at a light and the A came on and the engine shut off - didn’t think that was supposed to happen. Hit the A button to turn off and everything was fine. Just surprised it engaged.

 

If the steering wheel is turned when it goes into idle stop it makes a violent locking movement. Catches me by surprise every time. Not sure why they would enable idle stop while you have the wheel turned… what if you are stopped waiting to turn at an intersection..
