Hey PrG, thanks for the great link. I've been takin' a lot of heat for wanting to go with the Honda wood trim. This looks like many more pieces, for a better price, and choice of different woods.PrG said:
But nothing listed for the Pilot yet...TheWorm said:...and joshua tree (dunno the URL)...
Oh BTW, as I recall joshua tree was actually a different kit. wooddash and exoticwooddash were the X kits that appeared to be from the same mfr...But nothing listed for the Pilot yet...
Looks like from this link here that ExoticWoodDash will be offering some real wood options, at least for the Pilot. Or is 'Real' just their name for real looking wood?TheWorm said:Keep in mind that these are NOT real wood (or haven't been for the MDX, anyway) -- but they are an excellent match to the existing trim in the cars.
Have we really been that hot on youSoapPlant said:Hey PrG, thanks for the great link. I've been takin' a lot of heat for wanting to go with the Honda wood trim.
I think the rosewood would look very sharp!OK, so what suggestions for a Sandstone EX-L (saddle interior)?
I was thinking (1) Medium Real Burlwood, (2) Dark Real Burlwood or (3) Synthetic Light Burlwood. I'm thinking something with a little tinge of red might set the interior off nicely!Threadhead said:

By the way, I don't think these pcs. look any more "real" in the pictures than the Honda ones? Maybe its just me?I haven't seen any of ExotixWoodDash's in person, but I'm thinking of stopping by seeing that they are so close to me. If I go, I will let you know what I think.
But I can say this... I ride in an MDX almost every day and IMHO the wood trim looks fake. Not having seen the Honda version for the Pilot, it seems resonable that they would be using the same manufaturer, and thus it would look the same.
On the other hand, in my brother's QX4, the rosewood (what it looks like to me) does not look fake and is very tastefully done.
So it looks like there will be another option available soon.Hello
We just received the shadow sheet and will have it posted soon.
Thanks.

In case you didn't know, the Honda wood trim kit is the adhesive kind.PrG said:Question I have about these is ... they look as if they are not replacement dash segments but instead the adhesive kind ... If so, I will opt for the actual replacement pieces ...
Thread Head ... thanks for the info ... I guess we'll have to wait until the first brave soul that get's it ... I just remember a friend who had an Accord EX that bought the wood dask kit ... it was all adhesive ... it sat raised a cm or two off of the piece it was taped too real obvious from the side view. I wanted to avoid this if possible ...Threadhead said:PrG:
I just went to the CollegeHillsHonda.com website and looked up the instructions on how to install the wood trim kits. They are adhesive, no replacement parts.
I sort of remember seeing one of the wood dask kit makers that would accept your dash part, apply the wood grain directly to the parts, and mail them back to you. But I can't remember the site.
I added the wood trim panel around the center audio unit on my '98 Accord. It was the adhesive kind too, but I don't think that it looks too obvious. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. If I have time, I'll be glad to snap a photo of it.PrG said:

Hey Threadhead, I agree with you. Wood trim on the front/rear doors (where the window switches are) came standard on my '98 Accord EX-V6. These don't look like adhesive trim - they look like original parts. But the center audio console did not include wood trim, and I purchased the adhesive wood piece for it. In my opinion, as long as you position it carefully, the results should be acceptable. Here is a picture from one of the parts sites (not mine).Threadhead said:SoapPlant,
I would love to see the pix if you get a change to snap one.
When I was at the dealer last night, I sat in an Accord that had the Honda wood trim kit. It didn't look like it was the adhesive kind, more like they were replacement parts, but it was hard to tell. While I thought it looked very nice and not fake like the MDX, it was inside the showroom at night. So I reserve judgement until it's outside in the daylight.
OK Threadhead, here are the pics. This first picture is of the wood-grain audio trim panel for my '98 Accord. First I had to clean the area where it was going with a small alcohol wipe (I think it was included). There were a bunch of adhesive strips on the back that you have to remove and then carefully position it in place, and apply pressure for 30 seconds. In the instructions, they tell you to only remove the tape from the back about 2-3" and then masking tape it to the front of the piece, position it lightly, and then remove the rest of the tape, but I found this almost impossible. I just removed them all.Threadhead said:SoapPlant,
