2016 Pilot Alarming Randomly, Need Help Finding the Hood Alarm Sensor

I have seen many people posting about older Pilot's alarming randomly, especially in the wee hours of the morning. I've been having the same problem with my 2016 Pilot. The dealership replaced my hood latch, and ever since then my car has been alarming, often in the middle of the night. I live in the middle of nowhere, so it hasn't been a problem leaving it unlocked. However, I traveling soon to Canada from Louisiana, and I can't leave it unlocked at hotels! I am trying to find out how to disconnect the hood latch sensor, but I can't find a diagram that shows me where that sensor is. All of the videos I've watched are for older Pilots, and mine looks completely different under the hood! I took it to the dealership and they told me that they can't disconnect the sensor, that I need to spend $400 for some other part. Forget it! I am a mechanically disinclined woman, but I'm sure I could manage this if I knew where the sensor was located. Any help would be appreciated!

Just disconnecting it is not going to do anything, you need to disconnect it and jump the terminals on the connector together to bypass the alarm.

The sensor should be located on the hood latch itself. You may need to remove the plastic cover in the front to see it better.

I had the same problem with my Toyota, and one service advisor at the dealer just used a long flat head screw driver, through the front, right under the hood, pried off the connector. It seems to work, but I think it still went off one or two times(not too sure, it could be a psychological thing).

so typical of the dealer to make a vehicle worse than what it was.
my 2013 has been giving me fits recently that I have attributed to the extremely heavy rain and very high humidity.
on mine the hood latch switch harness connector is up front behind the radiator fans and actually all the wires come off the same wiring trunk. normally your lights will flash and horn will honk once after the second press of the lock button on the key fob. mine would lock the doors but would not flash any lights and no honk. after a quick unplugging of the connector I immediately regained the confirmation blink and horn honk.

Usually if just unplugging the switch works it means the switch is bad.

excellent, so jumper the harness connector to make the vehicle think the hood is "open" all the time whereas just leaving it disconnected makes vehicle think hood is "closed"

Correct.

It would be if you had access to the service manual.

apparently my wife's '07 started randomly alarming in our garage yesterday.... disconnected the latch switch harness... no more horn beeping

so weird how both our Pilots were having the exact same issue from the exact same switch
