Hey boxxer,
Can you advise me please, i also have a 2012 pilot , I was thinking on putting a 20’s wheel but after reading your post im kinda leaning on a lift kit ., which one is better lift kit or bigger wheels? Thank you in Advance.

Most folks would look at LOWERING and going to lower profile tires.

Rick
With the crater sized pot holes we have here in NY I would give less than a mile on that profile

Would you guys choose a bigger wheels on your 2012 pilot like 20’s or put a lift kit?
It depends on what you are using it for. If you want some bling, then 20's. If you want to push a couple less inches of snow or clear rocks that are a couple inches bigger when looking for that secluded camping spot then lift and taller tires!

I don't see many people talking about lifting their pilorts and was curious if anyone had any interest in it?
I am currently having my 2012 Pilot EX-L lifted with new 31" tires. The lift itself was only a couple inches and the tires will add a couple more.
If anyone is interested I will get some pics and share my experience with it.....if not..I won't<img src="http://www.piloteers.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smilie" class="inlineimg" />
I am interested as I am having my Pilot 2010 lifted today 2 inches as we'll.Thanks bud.Shane

Looks nice here is mine 06 with $275.00 lift kit installed it myself as well and 255 70 16 tires and 25mm spacers all around
Did you have any issues with the front sway bar end links? The ones that came with my kit are adjustable and im not sure if i should make them match the old sway bar length or if they should match the new space between the lower control arm and the shock assembly it connects to. Thanks!

also I put 255 70 17 tires on it with 1.25in bolt pattern adapters. Had to cut out some of the wheel well for clearance but it works!

I have a 2008 honda pilot. I wanna lift mine, but cant find anything more than a measly 2" lift. Any suggestions on finding a 6" lift??

Got the lift installed yesterday! Well it's technically a leveling kit. Made by ReadyLift, it is currently the only product on the market for the pilot. You can find it on eBay for 699, but the local truck lift company sold it to me for 575...610 with tax. The install was 300.
I ended up doing it myself since my dad owns a garage....he helped. I would not recommend doing this yourself! Save yourself the trouble and have a lift company do the work. Instructions were horrible!
After the install, I took it to Goodyear to have the alignment and new tires put on. Kept the oem rims since they look nice and this was an expensive enough endeavor!
If anyone wants a pair of the oem tires with only 7k miles...shoot me a message...willing to listen to offers:)
Went with a 31 in all weather tire, the 31 in tire just barely fits.
Overall, spent about 1700:(

If I get a chance, I'll try to get picks next to another pilot to show the real difference. After lift and tires it added about 3 inches. Has more of a truck feel now, but the ride is still smooth.

I know this thread is old, but HRG has a 2" kit that has significantly dropped in price, $319 with the camber bolts, $275 without.

I decided to purchase the HRG instead of the ReadyLift. I can’t wait to receive it and install it!

i have a question,, is the optimal time to consider having your vehichle lifted when you are already considering replacing your shocks/struts in the near future? or are those a totally different beast altogether? (2012 touring 4WD 83k).

Yes, that would be the most economical time because you are already looking at doing work to your suspension and planning the subsequent alignment.

The lift kits for the Pilot consist of 1-3” metal spacer blocks that bolt onto the upper front strut housings and spacers for the top of the rear springs. Generally this is the best time to replace worn suspension parts. The alignment tech may recommend camber bolts, adjustable rear CA to complete the alignment.

Hi everyone,

I got my 2" lift from HRG installed on my 09 Pilot for about 3 weeks now and I’m struggling with this whole wobble issue at the front upon turning or accelerating.

I literally replaced everything to get rid of the wobble.

CV Axles, front wheel bearings, front lower control arm, alignment, balanced and rebalanced wheels.

I see that HRG has a 1" subframe drop to get rid of the wobble my vehicle is experiencing but that comes at an extra cost of $350…

this project was fun to begin with but now I’m a annoyed with the whole thing as it’s costing me more money then anticipated.

I emailed HRG and I asked if the subframe drop would get rid of the wobble. At this point I’m willing to give it a try as I hate the feeling. Feels like my Pilot is going to lose a wheel or something.

Piloteers, if your going to be lifting your Pilot. You may expect some issues. So get ready to empty your wallet as it’s going to be expensive!

The subframe drop kit is designed to reduce the CV axle angles after installing a lift kit getting them closer to stock for best results. The subframe drop kit actually makes installing the lift kit easier.
True. I know it’ll help, but the outcome will vary as Im not sure if it’ll clear the problem. Most likely not at 100% however it’s to be expected.
