Car: 2011 EX-L 4WD with wheel locks

Location: Open Road Honda, Edison NJ

MSRP: $35,595 + $780 destination + $112.55 wheel locks installed = $36,487.55

PAID: $31,225 + $780 destination + free wheel locks = $32,005 [Plus taxes, doc fee ($398 on contract reduced to $200), and MV fees]

I got a quote for $31,990.00 for a Honda pilot 2011 EX-L before taxes and fees. Do you all think that is a good deal before tt&L. After tt&L out the the doors adds up to be $34,013.49

The only thing I don't like is the extra stuff they add on to the car are:
fabrick protection $195
nitro fill for tires $169
wheel lock $125.99
sun visor $228.40

The MSRP was 36478.65 but they gave us -$4,499.00 discounts down to $31,990.00
Do you all think I should ask for more and can I ask them to take off the extra package deal or do I have to buy it? Thanks for your help!

I need your advices because I will be picking up this following tuesday may 24, 2011 or should I wait til memorial day? Is there anything special going on that day?
You probably already purchased the car, but I would tell them to remove the extra crap or you'll buy from another dealer. $170 for Nitrogen? Really?

Hi all, new here... just got a 2011 White EXL w/RES 4WD.

I emailed all over Washington, trying to take advantage of my Microsoft discount, or Costco discount. Low supply for what I wanted and the typical Japanese crisis line...

I paid $34,100 before taxes - this was the cheapest by $1400, using the Costco program (which was the same discount as Microsoft, however, you get a few extras in the Costco program).

I was happy with the price, until I started seeing what some of you guys paid! haha! I did get 1.9% for 5 years though, so that's a plus.

Hey PlatnumToof. I just purchased a Pilot at Honda of Bellevue as they gave me the best price. I too called around WA and OR and nobody was really willing to give me a good offer. Some dealers wouldn't move off of MSRP which was surprised. I have a buddy who was trying to use the Costco discount for a Touring model but was told they don't honor that discount with the that model?! I too thought I received a good deal until what I have been reading on this forum. Guess it is true that cars for some reason cost more in the northwest!

BTW...I'm in Kirkland too so maybe see you around.

Hey! Not sure if it's too late or not for your buddy, but from what I understand Lynnwood Honda is the only certified Honda dealer in the Auto Program in the NW. They do offer the touring ($300 over invoice was the rate IIRC) with the Costco discount. Congratulations on your Pilot! See you around!

I think he contacted Honda of Kirkland who told them they don't discount the Touring but all other models which sounded fishy to me. I new Kirkland honors it because they had a Pilot in the Kirkland Costco=)

I'll tell him to check out Lynnwood, thanks!

On my way later this afternoon to pick up my new 2011 EX-L w/ RES! Thanks to everyone on this forum for all the valuable information.

The purchase price (Wisconsin) was $33,500 + TTL.

Seemed like a good deal to me.

I am very excited to be a new Pilot owner and a new member on the forum.

Just bought a Black 2011 Pilot EX-L w/RES 4WD for 34,400 plus TTL.
Used Consumer Reports Online (Zag Report)and was able to get a quote from 3 dealers.
Had the car delivered to my house and took care of everything over the phone.

For a 2WD 2011 EX-L (standard), in California, late June multiple dealers came with a "best and final" price of $34,000 out the door.

Winning dealer quoted for the vehicle $30,500 + all the fees for total of $34K.

Took advantage of the HFS 0.9% APR for 60 months offer also.

Drove home a new Pilot LX 4WD yesterday for $27,649 + about $1800 in taxes. I did negotiate that they remove all S&H and dealership fees, but I used the USAA car buying service so I pretty much had no negotiating or haggling to deal with. Doing 1.9% over 60...they only offered .9% on the 36 month...is .9% for 60 a national deal?

After reading some of the other prices in here I think maybe I could have been a bit more aggressive but they matched the blue book on the trade in and I think it was a fair deal all around. Plus, you guys must be good negotiators, I heard the sales guys at my dealership talking to other potential customers and they were not budging at all. Have no idea how I could have achieved the price I did without USAA.

Just got a quote for $26,900 (+TTL) on a beige LX AWD. The next best offer I had was $27,9xx, which I already thought was fair. Going to the dealer tomorrow to pick it up assuming I can get a fair price for my trade in.
They offered me $500 more for my trade in than the previous place. Nice, no pressure sales. And I bought the clear coat, and everything else. <sigh> Well, I'll call on Monday and see if I can't back out of that.

Blue LX 4wd, $25,975+190 document fee aka BS fee (+sales tax/tag) and 1.9% for 60 months - no trade/nothing down. I think this is a good deal?

This was after emailing about 6 dealerships.
Actually the numbers ended up being $25493 + 190 document fee aka BS fee (+sales tax/tag) and 1.9% for 60 months - no trade/nothing down. And after all the research and quotes from different dealers I am just gonna say this was a great deal IMO - though not unexpected because there is $1250 dealer cash from Honda and $500 Honda loyalty cash at this time. :29:
