2011 Touring RES/Navi 4WD

Just picked up one of these for $35,681.5 (taxes and fees not included).

Drive out price was $39,550.00 (7% tax plus the crap fees that all dealers charge).

This is the best deal I could find in the metro ATL area, and it was at Curry Honda on Peachtree Industrial.

I checked Curry Honda, Gwinnett Place, Carland Roswell, Mall of GA, Ed Voyles, and Milton Martin in Gainesville. Everybody was within a couple hundred dollars of each other except for Milton Martin, which was a full $1000 more, and wouldn't budge.

I used to get my car serviced at Curry Honda and they had the best price by about $300, so I went with them.

$35,200 OTD was AWD? What was the price before taxes, lic, etc?
I didnt do that I negotiated the final price not the price before fees. but would be minus $45 I think for title/licensing, 3% tax in VA and $400 dealer "document fee" I have to dig up the invoice, my price of $35,200 may be the final price before "document" fee, now I dont remember anymore. LOOKED UP PRICE,final out the door price of $35,429 so I was off $229 from my original post.

But when negotiating work on the OTD price, if they start with the TTL and other fees, get them to give you breakdown of that as well as any dealer fees. You want to negotiate the final price, dont let them put in hidden fees, well not really hidden, keep in mind that sales methods is to sell you on the emotion. They want to excite you with the price, then add all the other stuff on so you are focused on price not out the door price. \

There are many variables in getting a good price, need to do your research, be willing to make a few sacrifices (choosing dealer in stock as an example), how large the dealership is, the sales rep, region and time of year you are purchasing.

Also dont get any add-ons in the F&I, that is a profit center, if Honda still has advertised finance rates then you are good to go, if not make sure you go in with a few quotes for finance as well, and know your credit score. I have had a F&I office try to bump up the rate a few tenths of a point on me as that makes a difference over the life of a 5 year loan, not much but another few hundred is another few hundred.

I am all for dealers making a profit, but the more research and info you do the better you can negotiate. I enjoy doing the research and taking in all I can learn, I sent about 4-5 months of researching the Pilot before pulling the trigger and more time when looking at the competition as well before I shortlisted the Pilot.

Thanks for the insight. I'll work on the OTD price!

just picked up a 2011 2wd EXL with Navi, Out-The-Door price 32,200

price included tax, tag, title, fees, registration, everything.

the truecar price link is here, dealer can afford to sell a few cars below cost as they get a 50k incentive from factory depending on total monthly sales.

I have a best price quote of $33,827 for a 2011 Pilot EX-L AWD with Navigation including destination charge, but before taxes, fees, and license. Is that a good price? It looks like invoice is $34,827. How much lower can I go? This is for the Enfield, CT area. Thanks!

When are the 2012 arriving?
on the 2012 board, someone said a honda csr said 2012's coming in August.

other posts say - revised front grill, tail, console and lights. Nothing confirmed as honda is not releasing too early to impact 2011 sales. Normal practice.

2011 Touring 4WD, Boston area

Hey all... First time posting...

Just bought a 2011 Touring 4WD, Boston Area for $37,500 accessories included are:

Roof Rack Cross Bars
Running Boards with Lights
Rear Lower Trim

Trying to get the best price on a 2011 Touring 4wd white diamond pearl here in northern California. *Emailed about 8 different dealerships in a 50 mile radius. *Best bids I've got are $38150 and $38223, both before tax and title etc. *The other dealerships are singing the low supply blues due to the unfortunate catastrophe in Japan. *Shouldn't production on the 2011 pilot be halted by now? *I'd think with the 2012 on the horizon, 2011 stock would be on the shelves ready to roll. *Is this real or perceived supply shortage? *One dealer who first told me "due to the situation in Japan, supply is constrained so we've been selling close to msrp" quickly changed his tune when I said I had another offer well below msrp. He offered $38150. *Is this just a load of crap or what? *

Update: I contacted carsdirect.com and they are able to get me one for $37,600 before tax and title etc. Funny thing is it's from the dealer above that offered $38,150.

Yes it was before tax and title...

Paid $34,648 plus tax/fee for 2010 Honda Pilot Ex-L AWD. I did get 2.9 % APR 5 years.

Hard to get what you want these days. Stock levels for some models are getting low.

Best I could find for a 2011 2WD EX-L with Navi was $33,000 + ttl, etc.

Deal includes oil changes until 60K miles and use of a dealer car while the car is being serviced.

quags, you should drop navi and get a 4wd. it is very easy to resell because 4wd have alot of demand.

I got a quote for $31,990.00 for a Honda pilot 2011 EX-L before taxes and fees. Do you all think that is a good deal before tt&L. After tt&L out the the doors adds up to be $34,013.49

The only thing I don't like is the extra stuff they add on to the car are:
fabrick protection $195
nitro fill for tires $169
wheel lock $125.99
sun visor $228.40

The MSRP was 36478.65 but they gave us -$4,499.00 discounts down to $31,990.00
Do you all think I should ask for more and can I ask them to take off the extra package deal or do I have to buy it? Thanks for your help!

I need your advices because I will be picking up this following tuesday may 24, 2011 or should I wait til memorial day? Is there anything special going on that day?
