My preference is hard wired to the reader not bluetooth. For basic OBD2 work just get the cheapest wired not bluetooth setup.

Cheapo Bluetooth one connected to the Torque app on my phone for now.

So cheap I gave them out as stocking stuffers to family and friends a couple of Christmases ago.
Will that work with a "cheapo" flip-phone that doesn't run apps?

I'm the last link on the food chain of family phone hand-me-downs, but that suits me just fine because my old Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has Android 4.1, which is the last version that allowed me to hack Waze to talk to me like Elvis.

Just rename the file extensions from .bin to mp3 and copy them into the Waze/Sound/Randy folder on your Android 4.1 or prior phone.
