As promised, here are the Before & After pictures. Nothing fancy.
First two pictures are of the OEM Bridgestone Duelers (245/60R18)
Second two pictures are of the new Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar (265/60R18).
Did the tire shop have any objections to fitting new tires with a lower speed rating than the OEM tires?
I'm not planning on going that fast, so it doesn't really matter. I do go off pavement frequently. I also need the extra grip on both the boat ramps and the sand. I'm also happy the new can handle more weight per load over the OEM..

LOL. They don't make a full grille guard with brush bars. As for Deez Nuts, my wife bought a bright pink set as a joke. I got even and put them on my garage door so my door would be "Well Hung."

Goodyear Assurance tripletred when it’s time. Best tire I’ve ever had on my cars. Buy them with a Goodyear credit card get the rebates+in store rebates then pay off the credit card. Awesome tires.

I also get the Goodyear pre-paid 3 years worth of alignments and balance, which is an awesome deal and guarantees the warranty on the tire.

Normally tire manufacturers use the common excuse that you didn’t rotate the tires or balance them every x number of tires, so the warranty is void.

Dealer demo?

I think maybe vehicle was purchased brand new, and now has 16k miles on the odometer, and on the tires.
Not very hard .. my 2015 only had 20 k on the meter..came off a lease the person never drove it .

Fair enough on low-mileage lease return. As for above comment, context matters. It goes all the way back to OPs post.

What I want to know is how you bought a car "brand new" with 16,000 miles on the odometer?
Hello Folks

Proud and Happy 2016 owner here. Purchased brand new. 16k on the odometer. [...]

Just hit 50k miles on our Elite with Continentals. I wandered into tire shop at Costco while waiting for wife who was lost in warehouse.
Asked about some new Michelins size 255/50/20 , they told me they could not put larger than stock size on our car.

I called local Discount Tire shop and they said they could order and install in a few days the slightly larger tire with no problems.
Best to shop around for what you want.

You put these on your pilot? I also hate tire noise. Also interested in lower rolling resistance for better mileage. Can you tell me the tire names that you had success with on your pilot?
I buy tires every 3 years or there about. I drive about 35-50,000 miles per year.. Outside sales..

I have found over the years that Michelin tires meet or exceed their milage ratings. I typically get 110,000 out of their tires. This is almost all freeway driving, so I realize it's a unique example. If a tire is rated at 60,000 to 80,000 I seem to hit the 100k mark...

The Continentals on my Pilot, I have very happy with. I am at 100k on them and about to change them out.

I have found over the years that you get what you pay for with tires. If I only drove around town, I'd probably not get too worried about what I was buying. But, once you are going 80 mph for hours at a time, that road noise will beat you down!

I have also owned Goodyears, Bridgestones, etc. I have had success with them, just not as much as with Michelin.

I rotate every 10,000 miles and keep pressure at 35psi. If I find a strut going wonky, I replace them all.

When I am due for the replacement, I am switching over to Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S tires. I want something with a little more bite form when I venture off pavement into Sand, Gravel, and Mud. Plus being in the Northeast, I want something that can withstand the Snow and the Ice we receive. I am willing to sacrifice 2-3 mpg for better grip and security for my family.
The tire I really want is not available in the size for Smoky. I want the Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar (formerly call the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor)
I had these in my last pilot and had no issues 4 season other than they will not stay balanced after they wear down a bit and quite noisy.

I ended up going from the 245/60R18 up to the 265/60R18 and went with the Goodyear's.

I haven't purchased a new set yet, but noticed at least the drivers side front inner shoulder is worn down bad, like down to the steel belt bad. I have ~38k miles on the OEM tires and admit I have not rotated in 14k miles. I skipped it on the last oil change, just didn't have time. Seems a car with 38k miles shouldn't have alignment issues. 2016 EX-L

Alright so after reading the whole thread I’m going with the suggestion of the Michelin Defender. Seems right fit for what I want. But sizing is my question... stock is 245 and that blows, got it. But 255 or 265? Many are also saying stick with stock 50 or 60? What’s the best combo here?

Mostly just need wet traction and light occasional snow, I’m in the Northern Virginia area. Not much non-paved roads. But my wife does like mean looking wheels. And we’ll I got to drive it too.

I typically buy Michelins. The ones I just bought last Friday are Michelin LTX.. I bought from Costco... I had 108,000 miles on the ones I replaced them with.

I'm going to ***** about Costco a little bit... They balanced 2 tires well and 2 they were way off.. I went to Discount Tire to get them redone, and they did it for free.. They also told me they would price match Costco... So next time, I'll be going there. I don't know if it's human error or not, but it's annoying!

Out of balance tires are not only annoying, it causes them to wear out really fast.. Lucky for me, I had the time to get them redone quickly. From 70 to 80 mph I had weird vibrations... Now they are gone.

Discount Tire has the Hunter balancing system which I think is the same as Firestone' s and supposed to be the best. I had good experience at Discount Tire in the past and decided to go back even if I pay a little more due to the high quality service.

Most of the time when it comes to balancing being off after install or being redone is human error or the machine needs to be calibrated. Same when it comes to alignments.

When I bought the Touring back in Feb 16 it has 8 miles. Drove straight to America's Tires/Discount Tires and bought the road hazard warranty for $30.00 each and included lifetime rotation and balancing. Fast forward to July 4th 2018, I logged 47823. Came home from family BBQ, ran over something a blew the rear left rear. Replaced with the temporary spare and drove home. During the drive with the spare, the RDM and LKAS all turned on. I thought when I hit the what ever it was, it took out the system.

Next day went to America's Tires, both front tires got screws in the edge of the thread and sidewall and could not be repair. And the left rear got blown. They honored the road hazard warranty for all 3 tires and I had only paid for 1. The only tire they have at the time was the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus. I wanted to get the Michelin Premier LTX. But I very happy with the Pirelli so far. Very quiet. Similar to my wife '18 RX350. Can't complain about getting 4 tires for the price of 1.

With the spare causing the RDM and LKAS, it was cleared once the new tires were installed. I believe with the spare, the body roll was so much that the system went crazy. I guess now I'm looking for an OEM 20 in tire for spare.
