After taking off the valve covers I was looking everything over and noticed that the valve assemblies for cylinders 4,5,6 had a lot more tarnish/staining than 1,2,3. See photos. There is a big difference in color between the two. The concentration of tarnish is near cylinder 4 to the left. This is on my 2012 Honda Pilot 4WD Touring with 93,700 miles. Is this normal? Is this a result of the VCM?
Also, I did not know that on the iVTEC engine, cylinder 5 and 6 have standard valve controls and don't utilize the Variable Valve Timing. You can see the difference in the photos.
I have included a picture of my spark plugs as well. You can see a big difference between 1,2,3 and 4,5,6.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
