What have you done to your Pilot today?

I couldn't find a thread like this, so if there is already a thread please delete or merge.

Today I changed the rear differential fluid for the first time and changed the engine oil and filter for the second time. Current mileage is 13,028 and the vehicle has been great. Both jobs were pretty easy, though I am not a fan of the oil filter location. I used a little over 2 quarts of Honda Dual Pump II for the diff and 5 quarts of Castrol Magnatec with .7 quarts of Valvoline FS that I had left over from my CRV oil change (both 0W20) with a Fram TG7317 filter.

Although I own a pickup truck certain loads are better handled by the Pilot. Pic does not show the use of ratchet straps to secure the light weight 12 ft long aluminum panels

The filename of your photo would indicate that it was taken in September of 2018, and not today.
Had to move the same crappy aluminum panels the other day to another property which wasn't picture worthy. Point is the Pilot is better for long items that won't fit the pickup.
Got the Pilot up on auto ramps for some visual inspections looking for any issues before they become big problems. With what I found it’s a bit amazing the Pilot is starting + running great and I want to keep it that way.

Corrosion got the best of that ground wire. I assume you live somewhere up north? What's the plan for that?
Going to buy a new ground wire or strap and check the rest. Amazed that I still had enough ground connection in the corroded strands to start/run.
I bought a 2020 Passport Touring AWD the first part of February and it has a whopping 1300 miles on it so far. Before all of the corona virus thing happened I did get a chance to do a little off roading with it and loved it, thus the reason for planning on putting on a skid plate.

I would highly recommend that anyone looking at a Pilot, a new Pilot that is, that does not need the 3rd row seat, take a good look as the Passport. I loved my 2013 Pilot Touring, but we just didn't need the 3rd row seat nor the rear seat entertainment system. Besides the Passport is much better equipped for those that want to do some off roading/overlanding as it sits higher than the Pilot and has better front end clearance angle than the Pilot.
Good points as the Passport is basically a slightly smaller Pilot. Some mods and accessories probably crossover between both models. Skid plates can make sense for your type of off road adventures because there are plenty of vulnerable $$$ AWD parts underneath that could use some protection when crossing seemingly safe rocky terrain or a small tree limb.
Porter Cable light provided bright light under the Pilot and it’s on clearance at Costco.

That looks like a fun job that involves a lot of cussing haha
With the Pilot safely lifted, bright work lights and some quality metal blades the rusty bolts zipped off fairly quickly. After the CAT is bolted back on to the new OEM front exhaust pipe I may eliminate the resonator for a bit more bass.
Just finished deleting some chrome.
Looks pretty slick. Not sure whether its the pic but that {H} emblem on the grill looks a bit large. I have an '04 and removing the {H} has crossed my mind one day.
I still plan to do the remaining front pieces and sides, and will take what I learned today into action.

What do you think
Looks good for a first attempt to go black. Once you’re sure about the look and want something more permanent you could switch to bed liner coating.

I finally was able to use the hitch splitter this past week to take the kayak trailer and all the bikes together when we headed for Chincoteague, Va. Handled like a dream.
Glad to hear it was a good trip. Not that the hitch splitter couldn’t handle the 4 bikes but how was the stability or side-to-side movement of the bikes?
Please let us know what your catch can catches. 🤓🔎
Could be catch of the day :p

Amber or yellow lights tend to have less glare and may improve visibility under certain weather conditions but it’s debatable.
Installed 1.25" BORA Spacers. Made the stock 18s looked much nicer on the car!
Looks great! Did the Bora spacer instructions mention using lock-tite on the threads?
This weekend I installed under hood LED lights. I went with KC Cyclone 2.0 lights.
