I had no idea it snowed that much in Ireland!

😆 I'm a long way from Cork. Good thing the nuts and bolts are metric though, I'd be lost with other wrench sizes.I had no idea it snowed that much in Ireland!

I bled my rear brakes yesterday on the 08 FWD.
I had bled the fronts a few months ago when I changed the front pads.
Better late than never.
It's also my way of changing some of the brake fluids too.
8 full pump of the pedal on each wheel cylinder.
Yes, the worst location of a bolt ever. Its like they intend you to drop the subframe to get to it. If I remember right, I ended up using the ratchet and socket from my serpentine belt tool 🔧. Honda isn't bad overall for head scratching moments of " what were they thinking ? "Jesus Christ that was awful. I used the offset- the s shape didn’t do much. Took about 30mins to remove the rear drivers side bolt and 25min to put it back on. Thanks to those ac lines. Further proof that engineers don’t use their own stuff.
Weathertechs or something equally custom-measured make a huge difference. My only complaint is that they only cover the dead pedal halfway. Why just a h[email protected] design? Your snowy, slushy, salty boot then leaks much of its crud above the cutoff, and that drips and hardens beneath the mat in that area.I have 6 kids and the interior has held up well. The Weathertech mats were a game changer, I resisted buying them for so long. But since I was saving so much on gas last year with lockdown, I decided to bite the bullet. They are pricey but worth it especially with our 5 months of snow here.
In your own slow, staggered way, did you comply with Honda's brake bleeding sequence?I bled my rear brakes yesterday on the 08 FWD.

One thing that might've made your job less blasphemous, short of lowering the subframe, is a ratcheting version of that half moon wrench.Jesus Christ that was awful. Regarding Weathertech or equivalent, I say wipe your feet 🤔 😁Weathertechs or something equally custom-measured make a huge difference. Sometimes they're late or neglectful, but when city workers dump salt on the streets here, it's clear they're not spending their own money. Man, are they generous.Regarding Weathertech or equivalent, I say wipe your feet 🤔 😁
But of course, I did the Drivers front, pass Front, Months late did pass Rear, then Drivers rear!In your own slow, staggered way, did you comply with Honda's brake bleeding sequence?
I've had a Kijiji alert out all this time and one finally popped for Husky mats, which do cover the entire dead pedal, for a 2007 Pilot. Previous alerts were only for second and third gen Pilots, to my dismay, and so I figured that one for 1st gens were not simply out of production, but that they had never been produced, since I had found no evidence of their existence. An improvement, but [Weathertech] doesn't cover the dead pedal. Any driver's side mat that doesn't fully cover the dead pedal seems inadequate for my wintertime use because that's where my slushy, salty left boot rests. In fact, I'm still looking for one that does for my 2006. The Weathertech liner looks great, but only covers half the dead pedal, and the Husky liners do cover the entire dead pedal but they seem to be out of production. Still looking. Winter is coming...
Perhaps you can turn you old set into fender flares. FYI, buying a Passport, they must be really intelligent people.Score! View attachment 147028
For the past 5 years, I've always been dissatisfied with the fact that my (expensive) Weathertech Floorliner driver's side mat only cover half the dead pedal.

But lo and behold, these came up near Ottawa, and the seller assured me they perfectly fit in her 2007.

It was a lovely day on Thursday, the first day of the year to reach above 20 C, so a perfect excuse for a day trip up along the Ottawa River from Montreal to the nation's capital. I pulled my Hakkas and shod my Michies Wednesday. My wife was also looking forward to getting out a bit after a long winter and COVID measures, so she packed a delicious picnic which we enjoyed right in front of ducks and a gaggle of Canada geese also making a pit stop near a meandering stream, presumably on their migration even further north.

We met a very nice couple who let us have the Husky set for $40, and since they were about to trade in their 2007 at the dealership to get a Passport (@Daltongang Alert!!), they sold us their crossbars for the same price. I'll be giving those to my daughter.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable and productive day, On the way up, we took the scenic route and saw great swathes of mist rising from farmers' fields as the last of the snow evaporated, and on the way back I put some good carbon-cleaning highway miles on my 2006, which had been doing little more than grocery getting all winter.
Old set going to my daughter.Perhaps you can turn you old set into fender flares. FYI, buying a Passport, they must be really intelligent people.
Hey just trying to get you that set of fender flares you keep lusting for.Old set going to my daughter.
Yes, the impression I got was not only were they very nice people, but smart as well. The husband teaches physics.

No longer. I splurged late last year and had a great body shop to properly fabricate and redo those rear fenders that were starting to show a little rust.Hey just trying to get you that set of fender flares you keep lusting for.
My daughter drove me out in her Pilot today to go pick up my Pilot.
Got tired of fruitlessly searching and waiting around for unobtainium fender flares. You know, to cover up the start of body rust where the sides of the plastic rear bumpers come up to the rear quarter panel. Yeah there -- don't pretend that you don't know, rust belt 1st genners. The tipping point was when rust started to appear above the windshield corners. They don't even make no OEM windshield flare to hide that. So I started my search for a good, old school body shop that's been in business for many years and doesn't pooh-pooh non-insurance jobs.
Found one. A bit far, though, but well-recommended. A father and son place that takes pride in their work and that doesn't try to overcharge you. It took them almost all month, but now my 2006 looks like it just drove off the showroom floor. The guys fabricated custom body parts so as not just to bury the rust, but to replace it everywhere it was hiding beneath the surface. And the Nighthawk Black Pearl paint job and blend are spotless. OK, it set me back a couple grand and a half, but my Pilot runs so well when I take care of it, I want to keep it going a good long while. I'm OK with spending some of all the money I've saved over the years by using Maxlife ATF instead of DW-1I'm happy with it, more than I think I would be after owning pretty much any other comparable vehicle two months after I purchased it new.

And crossbars, remember.A 250-mile round-trip for floor mats?
I once did that drive, some 40+ years ago as a day-trip away from a vacation in Montreal, to tour the Parliament buildings. But really it was just the perfect excuse for a perfect day trip.
