What did you do today to your 2003-2008 Pilot?

Replaced NGK Laser Platinum spark plugs with NGK Ruthenium HX plugs on my 03'. Oil change with Amsoil 0w-40 Signature Series oil and Amsoil EA filter. Why 0w-40 instead of the recommended 5w-20? The 0w will flow a little faster on cold starts in the winter and the 40 will protect much better on 90F+ (outside air temp.) summer days.

Also, I called NGK and verified that sparkplugs.com is an authorized distributor/seller (they didn't have them listed on their website) so, I get real plugs and not counterfeits. Yes, there is a whole world of fake/counterfeit auto parts out there and I would recommend not buying auto parts off of Ebay. If you're not buying directly from the stealership, definitely go to the manufactures website and look up their authorized distributor/seller's and if they don't have this information posted give them a call.

Here are some fun for the whole family spark plug pics:

Last night after a trip to KC, I swapped out the serpentine belt. I saw a small crack and threw in a Continental soon as we got home. I had hoped it would solve the odd noise I've had coming from over there. I'm attaching a video. Right around 18 seconds it is more prominent. I need to probably get a mechanics stethoscope like @plplplpl suggested. My screwdriver isn't getting down there far enough to check everything!
Is your crank pulley wobbling at all? Mine sounded just like that, and noticed the crank pulley (harmonic balancer) was wobbling a bit, which you can see your belt moving a bit where it comes off the crank pulley to the tensioner. Turns out they are a 2 piece design where there is rubber between the inner and outer ring pieces, and that had cracked and deteriorated. Got a Dorman unit, and was able to test out my Lisle Harmonic Balancer socket and HF high impact torque wrench on the crank pulley bolt, which worked quickly to get off the crank pulley bolt, compared to the manual method. You might want to get a flashlight on the crank pully as it is idling and see if you see it is wobbling/vibrating at all. If so that is likely your issue. Thought it was the tensioner adjuster, but that had already been replaced.

Mannnn….. That stuff would gag a maggot.

We had an all veggie supper last night consisting of black eyed peas, homemade pickled beats, steamed broccoli, and Hot Water Bread. I Love Hot Water Bread, my Big MaMa (mom’s mom) made the best. For those of you who haven’t had the privilege of eating it with fresh greens, peas, etc you are really missing out. Mom’s weren’t as big or pretty as her mom’s but still tasty. BTW-Hot Water Bread is similar to Fried Grits but made with yellow corn meal.

Thank you! I'll check that out. The tensioner was replaced around 50k ago and I was curious if it had gone bad again. This is worth checking out. I appreciate it!
246,511 miles- 1x D&F ATF with VML
Pictures for @plplplpl ’s viewing pleasure- knew he would harass me if I didn’t present ;) 🤣

Discovered FAST way to fill through Dipstick!
Just slip this funnel over fill tube and watch for any drips around tube. If I had any I couldn’t see them with flashlight

Pulled off my Nokian Hakkapeliittas and slapped on my Michelin LTXs. Summer, bring it on!

Took the opportunity to give suspension bushings, joints, gaskets and boots (i.e., everything rubber I could spot) a first-time spring spritz with AT-205. Usually, I do it in the fall before the winter mess and gets throw up under there, but I was feeling generous this time. Also, it's back in stock, so I had a six-pack standing by.

As well, finally secured the rear 12-volt socket, which had been loose and rattling for a couple of years because of the battery jumping unit attached to it so as to be perpetually, perennially* recharging in case of emergency, and providing USB charging cables for the rear seat crowd. If I had followed through on my original discovery of a little access panel from within the emergency jack housing, I woulda coulda shoulda made that easy fix a long time ago to alleviate a niggling source of OCD. It's just an aluminum cap to screw back on from the inside of where the 12 volt socket goes in.

Here's one for @road2cycle: I hardwired a battery pack for the handlebar-mounted cellphone holder which feeds music into my Bluetooth helmet speakers when I ride.

Well…. I guess it makes sense to use AT-205 for rubber components- never thought of trying that. Been doing for a while @plplplpl ? Anyone else got a favorite Rubber conditioner?

Yup, for quite a few years now. Yes, I admit it; Scotty taught me that one. :D

Also Fluid Film on undercarriage metal parts and rustproofing before every winter. Gotta protect my beloved Pilot from the seasonal onslaught of salt and slush up here. It's working. (y)

Someone was right on. It doesn't appear to be the rack, but the u joint from the steering column to the rack. Going to put in another one to prove it, but the old one feels chunky. This could be great news. Will report back

That was it, steers smoothly now. Getting closer to being done. Also changed cruise control module, fixed windshield washer line, and replaced a hood hinge. Still needs quite a bit of work. @Cousin Itt called it.

Pulled Kenny in to start stripping parts for the Silver one. Exhaust will not be reused, unfortunately. New one on order. Installed new LCA's, sway bar links. Swapped front rotors over. Used a couple bolts from Kenny to fill holes left by PO. Since the ignition was replaced, I had a door key made. Windshield comes Friday. Tires will come soon, not sure when. And I need to get the cross bars swapped over.

Got the mouse nest out of there, got the interior plastics steamed, wow what a difference. Steamed the seats, and conditioned them. Garage smells like leather now. Tomorrow is windshield, shampoo carpet and put seats back in. No exhaust yet, so that will have to wait a bit.
