So What Did You Do To Your Pilot Today?
I participate in (and moderate) several car forums besides this one. We seem to be missing a common thread that's popular in those, where owners describe some of the smaller things they do. These are usually tasks that don't immediately deserve a dedicated thread. What did you do today with...www.piloteers.org
Honda uses hi-beam bulbs at Half voltage for DRL. It works fine on incandescent bulbs but not most LED. I found a set for my CRV that was listed to work and they did. Haven't done anything on the Pilot. That's what happened to me, too. Must be something about Canada being an early adopter of DRLs, since it doesn't appear to be a problem in same genreation US Pilots.
OOOh, I just got this last weekend. Had to use it to get at my PS hose leak. Best $99.99 I have spent in a long time! lifts the big girl at the center points smoothly and stress free compare to the bottle jack I used to use even though that is 12 ton rated, this is just soooo much better. then jack stands under the side jack points and go.Used the 07 Pilot to test out my new floor jack. Got the 2.5 ton aluminum low profile jack from Harbor Freight that goes up to 18&5/8”. Got to the front jacking point on 3 pumps and in 8 more got the front wheels 2+” up. Jack was only up 16.5” before lowered Pilot down to 16” on my old Craftsman 3T high lift jack stands. I just ordered the ProLift 6T T6906Ds double pins since they go from 16” to 23”. Would have looked at the HF Daytona double pins but they max at 16&3/4” and I am not sure if this will suffice when I have all four wheels off the ground.
These are the new shoes. Not bad so far, I got them for $300 with 12/32nds on all 4.No pics but I put new sneakers, and did the PS hose swap as my sketchy repair was holding but not for long then did the rear sway bar links and bushings. Bushings were some of the easiest I've ever done, links were terrible!
Ha, that sucks. Our newest car doesn't even have a spare. I got to trust in self sealing goop tires and hope they work. That being said I am not going too. I am going to buy a spare and a jack and put it in the spot in the care the spare should have been.Went to lower my spare, and the spare tire carrier jammed about halfway down. I got the dreaded clicking. I pulled it off, washed the cable down loads of penetrant, and it broke free. I re-installed with very little confidence in it now. Who needs access to the spare anyway? I'll just have to plan out my flat tires better. /sarcasm
Man That’s Cold!!!!
thank god it's only for 2 months or so and not everydayMan That’s Cold!!!!
I got one of those cause I am going to need to replace my battery soon and my current fob is JB welded together LOLAftermarket key fob bought 2yrs ago broke. Previously, only the original top half was broken so I just put the new top half on the bottom half. Received my next aftermarket case today and pulled the guts out of original bottom half and dremeled the casing around the chip to make it fit the new case. Tried all out and worked fine. Hot glued chip in and now for $6.49 total cost I’m ready to roll again!😁👍👍. Also noticed while testing out that I’m at Exactly 231,000 miles!! (notice the temperature 😉)
