Hi guys.

There is an unplugged wire that is part of a cluster behind the steering wheel. You have to lay down and look up to see it. Does anyone know what this goes to?

A previous owner may have not like the chime when they opened the door with the key in the ignition or headlights on.
I'd just plug it in and see what happens. Please let us know.

Would be interested to know as well. I would plug it in and see what happens, assuming it fits the connector on the block there (it sure looks like it would but hard to be sure).

As a side note, some car makers use a universal harness that may have unused plugs on it. For example, Honda may use a Pilot harness that has the connectors for remote start even on a car that doesn't have that option. In that case you may find loose plugs like that from time to time. I get why they do that, even though I would prefer they didn't (though it may make it easier to add in an option later).

Plug it in. What's the worst that could happen?

That sort of looks like the female connector for the towing (trailer) electronic brake controller....
