There are numerous threads about problems people are having but really no mention of those Pilots that are trouble free.

Have you had legitimate problems with your Pilot or has it been trouble free?

Mine's good. Over 250 miles and just keep liking it more. I am very impressed with the 5 speed auto. It is our first automatic transmission in 26 years. My wife is still trying to find the clutch pedal.
I am also impressed how easy it is to put this Pilot in a parking space.
The climate control is also very cool and so are the steering wheel mounted radio controls.
My Pilot was delivered with about 36 Lbs pressure all around in the tires (book and inside door say 32#) so once I dropped them down it rode much better.
I have not pushed it in a turn knowing that the tires need at least a few hundred miles to get scuffed up and stick at their best but it feels real good so far in the corners; no excessive body lean or tippiness at all.
God willing , things will continue to stay good. This is one very nice vehicle.
American Honda is wonderful to deal with (compared to Subaru of America). They work very hard to keep their customers happy.
I also think the interior is very well done.
Love the Pilot.

I'd say trouble free

I think the roof caps are poorly designed. That is making my crossbar installation a pain. But as far as my "stock" Pilot....it's awesome. To date, the only problem I've EVER had with any of my Hondas (CRX and Civic EX) is a cracked distributer cap that made it hard to start when it was damp. But in both cases this happened near the end of life of the vehicle. Contrast this with my parents who always buy American. I swear every year they have a major repair with one of their vehicles. I've had such amazing good luck with Hondas that I can't even justify the extra money to buy Acura. And that's not a knock on Acura by any means.

Problems?

I agree. The things posted on this sight are not really "problems" in my definition.

Now, if my transmission drops out while I'm on the way to work, that's a PROBLEM!

No Problems!

We are at 500 miles with not a squeak, rattle, click, leaking windshield nozzle, lack of fit or finish. No complaints! This car makes us want to get in and drive anywhere.

Go Honda!

From a general sense I would say the vehicle is sound. Many of the problems on this forum are odds and ends which should have either been caught in production or are easy fixes. Most models have some sort of necessary tweak fresh out of the gate. They are usually caught by the end of the first year of production and any first year models usually fixed.

The headliner will probably receive some sort of finish strip or the mending of the edges made cleaner. (like the Accords)

The door jamb paint sounds like itis a problem on some of the lighter metallic colors only, Starlight Silver nad Havasa Blue, and not even all of them.

The third row seatbelt will probably be explained to us or the grommit moved in later production.

The leaking windshield wiper nozzels I'm sure will be tightened.

It sounds like there is already a fix for the clunky driver's window.

The other thunking noise from under some vehicles I'm sure will have a fix as well.

No I didn't even experience all of these but if only six stock problems arose out of 12,000 vehicles so far I think that is pretty darn good. Any accessory issues are really after the fact and even then I don't think there are a dozen combined with the six possible stock. Heck I remember taking in my former american car for a dozen issues alone including ones such as anti-freeze smells coming through the vents into the interior, brakes not working properly, and ignitions causing potential fires. And that was before their shops felt free to do work which was not even requested!

We, My wife and I, have not experience any problem that stated here. We have put in about 1300 miles in the PIlot and its only about two days short of three weeks since we picked it up.

The only things that we found to be kind of unexpected is the alarm: after autostart the engine, unlock the door and put in the key in the ignition and turn it two cliicks (As per dealer instruction) and if not shift gear within certain amount of time, the alarm is automatically re-armed and will go off if door is opened or when try to shift gears.

Is this normal. When we bought our Pilot, we asked the dealer to put in the remote starter and integrated to the existing alarm so that there will be just one remote to deal with.

This kind of anoying at first but after a while we kind of get used to it. Just wondering if this is normal..

Didn't know that there was a Honda installed remote starter. This must have been an aftermarket remote starter that your dealer installed. I thought I read in the owners manual that no other add-ons should be integrated into the Pilot security system. But if it works for you more power to ya :4: :D

You know what? I think we put too much miles on our Pilot. But then again, that is why we bought the car for. Yesterday was the third week since I picked up the Pilot. It is now approaching 1500miles.

See who will hit the first 100,000 miles. Should I open up a new Thread for this. I think it would be interesting to see who has the highest miles on their Pilot.

You should wait a 1-2 seconds after unlocking door , enter, insert the key and turn it on to pos 2 and hit the break.
Good luck.
