The local dealer had a "get-to-know-us" orientation program tonight for new car owners.

Anyway, for what it's worth (I'm really bored right now) here are the top 10 things I learned from it:

1. Under normal maintenance, our fuel filters do not need to be replaced. They are located inside the fuel tank. My Grand Prix's is by the left rear wheel...... but a fuel filter that doesn't have to be replaced???

2. A black Pilot with gold stripes and badges is a really, really good combination! They had one there in the service bay for show.

3. The new Accord really isn't all that bad. It has a better seating position for me than my Pilot! :(

4. I won a Honda mug as a door prize......it does not fit in the cupholder of the Pilot :(

5. When the best turkey you ever had came from a caterer who served food at a Honda dealership......?? :D

6. In my next new car purchase, I will definitely consider buying a Honda.

7. Sales people are rather snobby, service people are very nice.

8. Only one other Pilot owner was there

9. I was like a kid in a candy store in their showroom. New cars are my passion. :4:

10. I discovered that if I'm that excited about being around new cars, I am definitely in the wrong career!!:2: Hello, Motor Trend? Car and Driver? umm...job, please!

Well, if it makes you any better, I've always wanted to be a porn actor, so you and I can both commiserate on our diverged career paths.

Diverging career indeed

You may be the only person in the world who would voluntarily return to a car dealer. I think you may need to get out more often....

Been doing it since 1989, and to think I once drooled over an '88 Topaz on the lot

Kinda puts things in a weird perspective :)

Gotta earn a living somehow :p
I hear you there, we all gotta pay the bills.

Working there and visiting there may be two different things.

lol. At the GM dealer where I got my Grand Prix, they knew me so well every time I went back they were like "Ohhh Godddd, it's him again!" :D

What can I say, I'm just a huge car-nut. :8:

I really thought about being a new car salesman at one time. Not just to have a job, but to smell the new car smell and get to drive/ride in the cars all day. But the hours suck, especially in the summer time when they're open til 8pm!

Seriously, time after time...no matter what brand dealership or where it is, I have always known more than any salesman could ever dream of knowing about a certain car. It's really sad when a PAID "professional" doesn't know the simplest things about one of "their" cars.

However, I will have to say that Honda people are a little more professional, perhaps a lot more professional, than most other dealers.
