Does the Pilot's engine use timing belt or timing chain?
If it is using timing belt, how often does it need replacement?
(5 year or 80K miles whichever comes first?)

manual says its a belt (although salesman said chain, think he was wrong). And it recommends a change at 60,000

I am embarrased to say, I don't know the exact mileage for the timing belt change. Previous Honda's was 90k. I think they increased the mileage limit but I will have to check and get back with you tomorrow night.

The manual cals for a change at 105,000 miles or seven years for "normal" conditions; 60,000 for severe conditions.

...and "severe conditions" for the timing belt are specifically described as "regularly operating in very high temperatures (over 110 deg F), in very low temperatures (under -20 deg F), or frequently towing a trailer.
