Timing Belt replacement, what else to replace?

The timing belt service should include Water Pump, Timing Belt, Tensioner, Pulleys, & Seal. Honda recommends that the timing belt be replaced every 105,000 miles or 7 years, which ever comes first. Timing belts being made of rubber compounds can deteriorate over time.

Serpentine belt could be changed at the same time as it is also made of rubber compounds. As long as they are taking it apart they can check the belt tensioner for signs of leaking/failure. If a serpentine belt breaks it will not cause damage to the engine. If a timing belt breaks on the other hand damage usually happens to an interference engine.

Spark plug should be changed at 100,000 mile. Valve lash checked at that time as well if you are doing the timing belt now. Valve lash is usually checked with a timing belt service, but valve lash is a mileage issue.
