yep. Offroad with 4 passengers with the A/C running is going to kill the range. One hr recharging isn't going to cut it driving through a city you're not familiar with. Infrastructure is not there yet and batteries have a ways to go.

Infrastructure is not there yet and batteries have a ways to go.I would think that 300 mile range would be under perfect/ideal driving conditions....doubt it's anywhere close to 300 miles towing 10K lbs. I thought Federal Law required EV mfgs. to have a 8 yr/100K mile warranty on the battery/powertrain. 🤷♂️
These and other posts regarding factors which might affect the max range of any EV? Well Duh!yep. Offroad with 4 passengers with the A/C running is going to kill the range. Knew I'd heard of Del Rio TX somewhere before. Say Hallelujah! So I want to tow a boat to Lake Amistad in Del Rio Texas, to do a little bass fishing.

It would be a very slow transition if left up to market demand. However, with several automakers having already given dates when they will stop making ICE vehicles, either they will lose billions in lost sales when they do that, or change their plans. The many, many issues with going all electric have some enormous hurdles to get over, with grid reliability, capacity and new power plant construction needed being just a few problems.I'm thinking it will be a very slow transition. Especially if we have some actual brain cells running the country in a few years.
Ask California residents about using natural gas. Some cities have banned gas in new homes and many others, as well as the state, are working on banning gas in new homes. That leaves what? Electric from the grid or solar pretty much.I hope your right. Just know that electric vehicles are being added to the grid as we speak. If you were ever thinking about owning a whole house generator, now's the time. I'm thinking natural gas since it seems we have a large supply where I live.
Although I don't consider myself an expert (you're too kind), I have been a voice crying in the wilderness. My personal opinion, and that of some experts, is it will by hydrogen fuel cells that will offer a more achievable future than all electric
Shell has three hydrogen filling stations in the vicinity of Montreal.Although I don't consider myself an expert (you're too kind), I have been a voice crying in the wilderness.![]()
I still dont understand why were not all using Flubber by now.
