Finally! Wow, does it feel good!
I was talking to the dealership Sales Manager around 2:00 or so, and they said the ETA has been pushed to 8/28, and then it seemed like only minutes later, but it was actually around 3:45 when the dealership General Manager called me and told me that they just backed our Sandstone off the truck and they were working really hard to have it ready to go tonight. True to the word, when we arrived at 6:30, there she was parked outside the showroom, ready for its maiden voyage! A couple people walked into the showroom asking who's Sandstone Pilot that was - made us feel all special!
We were out of there by a little after 8:00 after all the paperwork, and another quick test drive before leaving there overnight for some accessories. We also tested out the DVD, and WOW, is that thing cool, or what!? Can't wait to play more.
They're installing the fog lights and the dreaded roof rack crossbar installation tomorrow, and we're picking her up first thing Friday morning.
I'm going to spend Friday on the air deflector, CD changer, running boards, rear splash guards, cargo net, wheel locks and wood trim. We already threw the cargo tray and cargo cover in when it was at the dealer (and they told me the cargo cover was a difficult install!).
Unfortunately, the sunroof install won't be able to be done until next Tuesday. The sunroof shop is also going to do the day/night mirror install while they have the liner down.
It's been raining all day, and really gloomy, but I snapped a couple of quick shots at the local mall parking lot during out test drive (Harrisburg East, Leo!). Sorry they didn't come out better, but like I said, it was getting late, and it wasn't a nice day at all. I'll make sure to take lots of better pictures over the Labor Day weekend. I'll also take lots of before/after pictures of the accessory installs and post them to the gallery.
Now we finally have an ACTUAL Pilot to talk about! More to follow...
