Recently noticed the tar strips on the North Texas roads. I tried to find like expectancy of the Mfr. struts, but noting definitive. So, I asked my shop to check suspension over because of a noise I heard and the planned trip ( 5K miles ) that it was going on.
They diagnosed sway bars, struts, and a minor steering o ring leak.
Well after spending $1400 on the struts and bars, having the 4 wheels aligned, and a couple other minor things. It drives like a newer car! No more tar strips or knocking noises! Great investment! I recommend struts at about 130K!
We are going 180000!

I am surprised your lower control arms didn't need replacement, if they are original, they are next to go (I am at 225K on 04 pilot - original transmission too).

@R Skotzke ....good to hear they got your Pilot running like new again. In the quest for 180K a couple things to consider: coolant, trans fluid and rear diff fluid etc
