Maybe Pang meant upstate NY from looking at the location 'Staatsburg, NY'. But then he also has Honolulu listed as his location. So you never know.....

Northeast is a big region, you might want to tell us more, like NY, NY or Boston MA for example.

Try ASC

Somewhere on the ASC (American Sunroof Corp.) page is a link to installers.
I have been told that ASC is the best for aftermarket sunroofs. They do quite a bit of work for the Automotive OEMs.

Will an aftermarker sunroof work on the Pilot? The ridges in the sheet metal of the roof come very close to the windshield, and the headliner is contoured in a way above the front seats that I think would make cutting a hole and sealing it very difficult.:8:

A nice glass, retractable sunroof is another feature I wish they would have included. Most other Hondas have them at the EX trim level.

Dealers say "no"

According to our local dealers, Honda says aftermarket sunroofs will VOID the vehicle warranty. I believe them because they would be the first to offer a dealer installed sunroof at some gouging price point...:30:

Check out Machester Honda

That old "Void your Warrenty" is the first liune of BS a sales-person learns!

Well right after "I am going to get in trouble for giving you a price this low".

They have to show that the modification caused the problem.
E.G. Rust around sun roof opening,

P.S. Extended warrenties are different, as they are more like insurance contracts than product warrenties.

Good tip

Nice catch with the Manchester site. I called them and they referred me to the shop they use. That particular shop, (Attention To Detail in Middletown, CT) use the Webasto product. It was Hollandia but they merged, I guess. They hadn't installed one in a Pilot yet but were very helpful. They've done many in Odyssey's with no problem.
They do cut the B-pillar brace but the roof gets reinforced by the sunroof frame and bracing. It's the same technique Honda would need to do when they put a roof in.
I'll be checking into this in my area. I'd love to have a roof. The warranty BS is just that. You're right, legally they have to prove the problem is caused by your 'illegal' mod.

$100. off

Called a couple of local shops that deal in Webasto/ Hollandia. It's about a $998.

The above site has a $100. rebate through Dec. this year.

So, a very high quality roof installed for about 900 bucks. I'm there!

sun/moon roof

I posted this note somewhere else. Our dealer here in Lexington, KY, added a moon roof to a black EX-L. Since the dealer chose to install the moon roof, it supposedly carries the full warranty. (nothing to back up that claim.) It looks perfect on the outside, had to do some funny stuff to the headliner to allow for the shade. Claims roof pillars were not cut. Added $1295, to vehicle cost.

tibbitts,

Would it be too much to ask to check with that dealer and find out the make/ model of the roof they used and maybe the trim shop that put them in?

Thanks much.
