I have a very strange "bink" sound that comes from the mid section/rear of the car when first going forward after being parked. It doesn't matter if it's been parked for 5 minutes, 5 hours or 5 days. As soon as I back out, then put it in drive and travel a few feet (less than 25), I hear a faint "bink" from the midsection. It is NOT time related (like an exhaust component warming up and "oil-can-ing"). But the sound DOES sound like an oil can. Just once on each start forward after being parked.

Does anyone else have this, or know what it is?

Check under the vehicle exhaust heat shields and around the driveshaft and rear axles. Also check your spare tire to make sure it’s not loose and banging around.

My 2004 Passat had a similar sound with the same timing and dealer said ABS.

I do not hear anything with my 2017 Elite, I will try to listen next time I drive it.

Well, I am pleased to report that all of you kind folks were right. It does in fact, happen at exactly 6 mph. I have to assume it the the ABS being enabled. Thank you.
