My Pilot is a month old. I just noticed that when I am listening to the radio and I manually turn the volume knob up or down at a faster rate of speed I get a static sound most of the time. I can't believe this would be "normal"? Also I have found that there is a hum of the engine in my sound system when I am listening to a tape. The noise is louder as the volume is louder. Does this sound like a grounding issue or does the Head unit need to be replaced under Warrantee?:8:

I thought I was the only one that noticed this? Yes, turning the knob on the volume control does produce a static sound through the speakers. My wifes Jimmy also does this and I believe this is normal. I had GM replace the stereo back in 98 but it did not fix the problem.

Regarding the cassette humming sound, I have not noticed this but I do very rarely use it..

If Honda does replace your stereo I don't think it will get rid of that static sound, worth a shot though.
