Good question. On 4X4's, you always put them on the front.
With this all wheel drive I would still say the front, because that's where the majority of braking is, along with steering (doesn't do much good to have the back pushing the front where it's not supposed to go).
I would really like to know what you're doing that you need chains!
Being an avid skier, I drive a lot of bad roads through North Park blizzards, and I've never needed chains. The only time I've ever used them was during late elk season when off roading in 2+ feet of snow in my truck.
