I assume I'm alone here.

 

Sounds like the mirror movement switch is stuck. Try jiggling the switch. If that doesn’t work replace the switch.

 

Update:

I decided to take the switch out and see if there was a method to disassemble it and potentially clean it. Upon removal of the dash panel I got the switch out by removing two screws and then pried the module open at four places to expose the sliding contacts and mechanism. There was a little bit of grease, which I would expect, but nothing excessive. I did clean all contacts including the grease, along with some apparent soiling, on the board. Install was reverse of removal. So far the mirrors do not move uncontrollably. We'll see how they do over the next few days, but this may have fixed it.

 

I'm curious if you indeed solved it? I have a 2015 with a similar issue, I'm thinking since the motor works it's just "out of centre" in it's alignment, but I can't find any info here except to replace the mirror motor entirely. Thanks in advance.
