I don't have the net, but I doubt it would keep a really excited dog in place. :21:
In fact if the dog jumps on the net there is a good possibility of fido's paws or toe nails getting caught in the netting.
One way to keep an excited dog in one place in the Pilot is to crate Fido and make sure the crate is secured to the floor. There are also harnesses Fido can wear which have straps that can attach to a seat belt or the floor. No matter the method used, Fido will do the best with a lesson on how to behave in a car.
We have the sep net in the X. Assuming the Pilot's is the same material, it's actually quite sturdy...not like the cargo net @ all. Our Golden can poke her head around the side to kiss whoever's in the 2nd row, though. There is the possibility that your dog could catch a paw in the netting if s/he's a scratcher.
