Has anyone seen or definitively heard of a Sandstone or Sagebrush Pilot at a dealer? Here in So Cal, we have lots of Silver, Black, EP, Redrock and a few White, but so far no Sandstone or Sagebrush. IMHO, these appear to be the two nicest colors. I know the brochure says it will be fall for the Sagebrush, but no such mention for the Sandstone. Why would Honda delay these colors? Does Honda typically do this? We love the Pilot and are anxious to get one, but are considering waiting for one of these two new colors.

The dealer here in PA told me that I could expect to get sage between middle of August to middle of Sept. I also think that these are the two best colors and the dealer had two hypotheses for the delay:
1. those two colors field tested the best, so it would be like another release (they know the initial demand will be ridiculous, so why not wait.)
2. those colors were not ready from DuPont in time for the launch.

Either way, he said both are pure speculation....

I had a couple of dealers tell me they have Sandstones on their July/August allocation. So I asked, 'what does that mean?" They said, 'they have placed the request (order) and if Honda is making any Sandstones at the end of July/beginning of August, they should be receiving one."

When I asked about Sage Brush, they all said, 'not until later in the summer.'

Sounds like a lot of 'ifs' to me, but I put a $500 deposit down on a Sandstone EX-L RES just in case

I have a deposit down for the first SageBrush that comes in at my local dealer. The best we could surmise was that these are also new colors for the '03 Odyssey and possibly MDX. Mesa Beige has been discontinued on both. So, it probably has something to do with outfitting the paint department at the plant with the new colors.

This is the same thing that one of the sales people told me - they're new colors for Honda.

I too have the first Sandstone coming to my local dealer. I was told Monday that my car will be in the dealership allotment submitted at the end of the month and that I could expect to wait up to 2 months for my Pilot.

I read on another forum of someone who's Sandstone Pilot has a build date for July with expected delivery in August. You could check with your dealership and see if they have that date yet.

Patiently waiting for my new Pilot.

Received confirmation this week that my EXL Sage Brush has an August build date and early September delivery. In time for Labor Day weekend?? 2+ months to go and a basement full of Pilot accy's. Oh, the agony!....:16:

Sanstone/Sagebrush Pilot

While shopping about two weeks ago at a local dealer, the rep said that day was the first day the dealers could start ordering either color for mid-to-late August delivery. Apparently they had tried the day before and were denied. They ordered one of each. Both EX-L. One had RES, but I don't rememeber which.
