I guess I'll be the first to post something here.

What dealer did you buy your Pilot from and what was the experience like?

Hoehn all the way in San Diego area.........
Fair price and excellent customer service. Their sales team are known to be very professional and no unnecessary sale's pitch. They are very similar to my Lexus dealership....

Hoehn??

Yea, just don't take it there for service. VERY BAD!! The service advisor actually told me I should have taken my Pilot back to the dealer I bought it from....in Corona. (No one in town had the right color). Cush in Escondido is great. Kevin always takes care of me. I would imagine that Cush San Diego is good too.

Hey, kajukenbo, where does your Pilot reside? I always see a Silver one parked in furniture store row in San Marcos showcased quite nicely on the end point parking space. Is that you?

Chet.....

No, sorry that is not my Pilot. However, I do have a silver Pilot. I just discovered that my driver side windshield nozzle is leaking. I am taking my car back to Hoehn this week to have them fix the scratch that they made and the nozzle leaking problem.

Service

Might I recommend Cush in Escondido. They seem to still care about meeting the customers needs and haven't steered me wrong yet. Can't say the same for Hoehn. I guess you might HAVE to take it there since they are repairing a scratch that THEY made. After that though I do highly recommend Cush in Escondido. Understandably they may be out of your way, so it may be an inconvenience to go to Cush. If not.......it's worth it to go there. Kevin is the guy I go to....he's great.

BTW, they shortened the length of my driver side washer hose and it pretty much took care of the nozzle leak. "Pretty much", meaning it doesn't squirt out any more when I go around a corner, but just a little drips out after use. Much better though.

Incidently, I went to a detail supply store near Pt. Loma a week ago and saw 3 Pilots within 2 minutes. That's more than I've seen in north county since I bought mine. I guess more of the owners live in that area. Anyway, best wishes on your service visist.

Not Hoehn for service!

A true story.
One White Accord. One Hoehn oil change. One loose leaking engine oil drain plug. One big oil leak. One too low oil level on the dipstick. One angry owner and one still arrogant dealer who did not apologize despite their mistake. No evident damage to the car to this day. Please go to another dealer.

Bought mine from Gardena Honda

and only paid MSRP. They did make me pay for the window etch, $180. I was generally happy with them otherwise.
Have not had to take it back to them yet.
It's too far anyway, I will take it to other dealer for service.

Thanks for all your input guys. I only bought my Pilot from there because they are selling their Pilot at MSRP price only.

Hoehn is too far for me to take my car for service anyway. Poway Honda is near by my house. I think I will take my car over there. However, if Chettie really recommand the Escondido Honda...I might try them for the major service.

Chettie, it seems that you are working for some metal house....(machine shop? or a sheet metal stamping shop?) can you guys make custom license plates?

Did you mean license plate frames?

Actually, I work for a truck and SUV accessory manufacturer. We make splash guards, hitch covers, floor mats, and decals. The items we make require a specific die, so we don't have the capability to make all kinds of aluminum items. Thanks for the inquiry though.

Chet,

Yes...license plate frame...Sorry. However, I am looking for one design only. It doesn't have to be aluminum. It can be cold roll steel since the material will be cheaper. It will probably be chromed for the look and the rust protection.

One die would do as long as you can have the letters like what you see on people's plate frame.

Can you PM me with your email address, I would like to discuss it with you offline.

Thanks,

Kaju

Hi,

Got mine from Pacific Honda on Convoy (after talking to the folks at both Hoehn and Cush). Had a surprisingly pleasant experience with Bo, the senior sales guy. Got me the model I wanted in two weeks (probably luck), at MSRP and gave me all the extras I wanted at cost. I also get a free loaner if I bring it back for service and he threw in a heavy duty cargo mat + rear mud guards & wheel locks.
Their service dept made a very good impression, especially Michael I.

Not me. Bo and Stephan played good cop-bad cop. Stephan promised $500 over MSRP and Bo said he wouldn't go lower than $800.
I went to see Tony at Nasty City. He told me $500 over and didn't play games. He even did a dealer trade for the one I wanted at Pacific.
I have yet to test any of the service depts. Pacific is closest though...

Pacific Honda wanted $1500 over MSRP. I kindly got up and walked out. I'm getting my Pilot tomorrow from Ball Honda in National City. Tony S. promised no more than $500 over MSRP. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

choctaw,

Hoehn Honda does not charge $$$ over MSRP....nothing. Don't pay anything over MSRP if you don't have to.

Any sales people over at Hoehn will sell you the Pilot for MSRP not a penny over. No negotiation is needed. If you need a good ref. just ask for Samatha......... ( I just got my Silver Pilot from her)

Agreed. I paid $500 over MSRP two months ago. I'd ask for sticker if I was to buy one now. Tell Tony about Hoehn's price.
Also, Mark from Poway has been calling me about every other day. They must be hard up for selling a Pilot. If you want, I'll call him and ask for MSRP for you (and to get him off my back).

Good news. I'm getting and finally picking up my Pilot tomorrow for --------------- $500 under MSRP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a coworker of mine talk to the GM at BALL Honda that she is friends with and got this deal. I'm sure Tony could have not agreed to this, but he did. So thank goodness for friends.

Choctaw,

Got mine at Pacific Honda msrp with no hassles 1 week ago. My salesman was Albert, gave me cost on accessories about the same as HAW. However they just called me and told me that the cargo cover was unavailble at this time? I guess I will go the mail order route.

Tars Tarkus,

Congratulations. I guess they had to get in step with the other dealers. I guess they were over MSRP back in June with the Pilot just being released, which is normal. I would definitely the accessories online. A lot faster and less expensive than at the dealership.
